Would love to see back 3 and AG playing a kind of free role behind Isak going left, right and centre. Except I'm no expert and be in bottom 3 by now probably. No Barnes in either 11 which I'm pritty bummed about, was trying to shoe horn him in wherever I could.

Isak shouldn’t be played anywhere but CF, no ifs or buts for me. He isn’t a 10 just because he’s got great technical ability. Having said that, we could use someone playing/being great between him and our CM exploiting space between the lines. Not necessarily a #10 but an attacking midfielder of some sort. Technical and creative one with great composure on the ball. That would give Isak way more space as well as dragging the opposition out of shape. Not just that, but also give both Bruno and Tonali a closer option to play “breaking the lines” type of passes without forcing Isak too deep as we’d have a long between. Both Bruno and Sandro are great at these sort of passes and I’d like to see us exploit this more by  having a bit more of a triangular shape in midfield to give us some depth and not just look to get ball out wide all the time. Despite his technical ability Isak isn’t at his best/consistent when it comes to going deep with his back to goal. Leave him as high up as possible.

Took his goal well. Got his swagger back.

why can’t he play for 90 minutes though? Done again by 75 minutes.

Having someone else lead the press from the front does give him another 15 minutes in the legs tbf.  And makes the press more effective.

His best overall performance of the season today, I thought. His linkup play was much better and his goal was obviously absolutely class.

Cooked by 75 again, mind

Sell and buy Delap

 I know that's tongue in cheek, but still a reminder how few top class strikers there are in Europe. Just ask Man U.

There was a time where he was isolated and wasn't scoring, and I said that I couldn't for the life of me understand why some people said he was our best player. I thought he was too inconsistent to be a top player. 6 months later I felt like a fool. I'm not going there again. I believe the guy was 2nd in the league last season for goals per 90, behind Haaland.

Yeah, there you go. Seems like most top strikers go through some patches where people start doubting them and/or how they fit in the system. Look at Haaland even. Typically it happens when the team isn't fully working. When it starts clicking, people don't question it anymore and it's all forgotten about. Isak will hit top form sooner or later as long as he doesn't get injured. The team finding form really does help him.

Getting a bit fed up of hearing  he was left with an easy header. The cross was fantastic, but there was still plenty to do. Great leap, and almost perfect contact and direction to get it into the top corner from that range.

To be fair post game even Isak said he felt like all he had to do is get his head on it. I don't actually think a few weeks ago with confidence low Gordan attempts to cross or isak hits the target.

Was a well worked goal by two top quality players.

I felt that was ok, just `isak being modest and trying to give Gordon credit for a fantastic cross. It's commentators and fans glossing over the header which narks me. It was perfect execution, not like you could just get a touch on it and it's a goal.

Why has the ABBA song been dropped for the Sunderland net 3rd level sounding small time crap ?

Too many words in the ABBA song for our fans to learn.

One of those super hard chances that he probably sticks away 9 out of 10 times anyway.

Would have died if he did so I'm grateful.
