Amazing how Villa have managed to play midweek all the time without crying on about it and looking shit every weekend. Wonder how they've done that.

"This is one of the best places to come as an away fan" - fair enough it's a proper stadium, but the words of a commentator who has never been in the peeve-free away end upper there or not been able to get in a boozer within a reasonable distance on an away day

Probably been kicking balls together on the training pitch between games.

To be fair, we've just come out of a prolonged bout of awful form where we put together a run of truly dreadful results.

Whilst I don’t disagree with the overall point you are making, their run to the final has been easy. Our league cup run was harder.

According to knowledgeable people who post on here and also spend a lot of their time masturbating over football statistics it’s because they’re “lucky”.

That tonight puts them level with us in terms of league games won in 2026.

They struggled with the CL schedule last year mind.

Difference is they're more proactive in the transfer market.

They finished 6th, just behind us so they certainly didn't struggle.

They did, but they were also only goal difference away from another CL campaign.

Champions league is a lot more draining, mentally and physically than playing half paced in the Europa league like.

Aye, if we had Europa, Osula would have bagged at least six in that.

Yeh but they finished 6th even with a deep CL run last season. They without doubt handle the extra games better than we do.

They're having a good season, we had one last year. No need to cry about it though

Even if Villa win at the Etihad on the final day, they can't top last season's total of 66 points, when they finished 6th. It also would have only been good enough for 6th the two years prior to that.

Mad how much the table has leveled out this season. Can only be a good thing.

Indeed. Got to the CL quarter final, missed out on qualification for CL on goal difference on the last day.

Sorry, my bad, I forgot the season started in January.

Probably by letting the ball do the work.

Liverpool scored two headers with their tall centre back, but got pissed on on the deck.

It's just a stupid observation. Villa have been absolute shite plenty this season, including against us in the cup when we beat them comfortably.

They were no where near until their January business came good.

Hence the second part of my point, Asensio and Rashford gave them momentum.

You have to hand it Emery. Finishing a mile ahead of us, whilst singing absolutely no one of note and elevating formerly average players to sky high levels at times. In any one else’s hands that summer window and missing the CL last season was an era defining disaster, but not his.
