It was a deliberate hand ball.  But since when do VAR get involved with hand balls on the half way line?  Its just not in VARs purview.

Seems like the VAR didn't even see the second handball, they thought it hit his hand in the first phase when it bounced off his leg so was accidental (which would be correct, though not convinced it hit his hand then) and it's like they stopped after that bit and didn't watch the rest

That handball is an odd one, as it looks like he touched it, but Ekitike wasn't exactly in a clear goalscoring position, so it'd probably be a yellow card offense, which VAR doesn't intervene with.

Thought he usually seemed sound and fairly measured last season. Bar the Everton game, which I can kind of understand under the circumstances.
