Still not worthy of a thread

Although it would have been better if he just retired from international football rather than doing the primadonna move of only wanting to play "important games" whatever that is, I say good for him. Hopefully it helps other players taking measures which ultimately forces the governing football bodies around the world to reduce the amount of games being played throughout a season.

Great player great video. But not sure why Ketsbaia is in goal for the 3rd freekick.

Canny article on the form of safe standing that's come into this country.

The next battle should be alcohol in the stands (maybe with restrictions on how many you can buy per games).

Safe standing is absolutely fine, I don’t to be crammed in too much. I get that was part of the atmosphere in times gone, but it’s not something I’d welcome in future. Leave it at a 1 for 1 format.

Financial times: Moody’s data confirms that two Los Angeles-based upstarts, Clearlake Capital and Platinum Equity, have among the most troubled portfolios. Both have come of age in the past 15 years and were aggressive on deploying capital, paying big prices and using heavy leverage. Each now manages at least $50bn.

Will never not be convinced that Rosenthal's is the absolute worst of this lot.

Bit harsh on Fowler, it comes back to him very quickly at a weird angle. It's a miss but not all-time bad.

Completely agree, a decent number of professional footballers could have put that wide as well. You expect a striker to score that maybe 9 times out of 10 but it’s not that rare for them to miss like that

Happily forgot all about that Ritchie one.

Love the way Sterling bodyslams the deck after his miss.
