TNT is going to be so BACK.

Hopefully Sky, Talksport et al decide to rid the media of this utterly gormless fuck. Fuck all to contribute and obnoxious as fuck in the process. A cunt's cunt

More dopey soundbites from an ex pro that has never coached a game in his life, a few years ago I watched a game in Turkey with an analyst that worked at Spurs, it was great, the things he saw was amazing a proper insight.

No idea what Bale is like as a pundit but I'd be absolutely stunned if he was worse, or indeed anywhere near as much of a thick cunt as Rio is.

He’s quite good. I’ve enjoyed his punditry whenever he’s popped up on TNT, usually for UCL.

If Bale talks about nothing but Golf he'll still display more insight about football than Rio ever did.

But he plays up to Man Utd, he'll get a job somehow.

It's a farcical outcome, even if it's legally the correct one. I found that article as clear as mud tbh; I still don't feel clear on what's gone wrong but seemingly they're bang to rights. It's a dreadful thing that a club should be denied its just rewards based on these types of issues, but the game's vulnerability to clumsy/malevolent ownership is utterly ingrained at this point.

At least from a football perspective, the standard of the Europa League isn't massively distinguishable from the Conference League. Betis, Fiorentina, Bilbao, Bodo/Glimt: all semi-finalists in last year's respective competitions, but probably not wildly apart in terms of quality, especially when stacked against the resources of the Premier League teams. (Bilbao and Betis played out two draws in La Liga last season, for instance).

To lose out due to bureaucracy is a sickener. Ridiculous all round, the only thing is, maybe as a side effect may cause a bit of a rethink in some places about this ridiculous multi club ownership model that basically means historic clubs becoming mere feeders for others as if their only point is to be a reserves squad. Personally think should never have been allowed.

The top four or five teams are going to be broadly similar because they’ll largely be from the same leagues (England, Spain, Italy). It’s the depth where it tells. Apart from a far more taxing first section, Man U faced Real Sociedad, Lyon, Athletic Bilbao and us in the knockout rounds. Chelsea faced Copenhagen, Legia Warsaw, Djurgardens and Real Betis. That’s a pretty big step down in quality.

Aye, fair enough.

I guess what's certain is that the two Europas are a lot closer together than the CL and Europa.

Yeah, that particular gap’s been big for a long time. The one big change is how strong the rest of the PL is in relation to other European leagues.

Kicker for Palace.

With a bit of luck, Palace could see themselves in the CL next season and that's gone now. Winning the EL and then going to CL would be amazing for them. The Conference is a major drop off as a competition just because of that.

And it's not that much easier to win imo. As someone said, Europa has a greater depth of quality but the quality at the highest end is about the same.

It's been made a lot bigger since the changes but I don't want to undermine your team's glorious victory (again). :pow:

You couldn’t if you tried . Not in my mind anyway. It is what it is.

Cannot get onboard with people including the charity (community) shield as a trophy.

Seem to remember Arteta doing it last year to try and boost his number of trophies won with Arsenal.

Think Pep did it aswell for some weird reason.
