Still still not worthy of a thread

When I thought about it turns out I don’t really like any past or present Italian or German players that much.

If you were including before your time then Socrates would be head and shoulders away for Brazil.

Also doing this list has made me realise that Germany probably have the most boring footballers.

Ronaldo or Ronaldinho for Brazil, Klinsmann for Germany and I don't remember ever liking an Argentinian although Messi is the best plater ever.

Ah Robben is a great shout for Holland I should have gone with him

Aye, somehow we were all blind to him but Toon25 has done him proud. Robben and Bergkamp are very close but for me personally I’d give it to Bergkamp

Is players you have seen on tv when you were alive and be random with countries?

Holland - Cruyff

France - Platini

Poland - Boniek

Bulgaria - Stoichkov

Romania - Hagi

Italy - Paulo Rossi

Germany - Gerd Muller

Argentina - Kempes

Brazil - Zico (though Socrates was very special)

Portugal - Figo

Rep Ireland - Brady

Spain - Raul

The list clearly reflects my younger years and when you didn’t see much of these players and memories stuck.

Don't usually like picking players before my time but I've seen and read enough about Cruyff to know he's my favourite.

Quick sidenote, "Filippo Inzaghi" is also the answer to one of my all time favourite pub quiz questions: Who's the only player having played in one of the "big" European leagues to have scored against all of the other teams in their league over the course of a single season?

Not sure if that's still true though, been more than a few years since I've heard it asked
