Bournemouth will be the toughest game out of the last 9 imo, they're a really good well drilled side, that press hard and will cause us problems if we're not switched on.

Plus they have some hoodoo over Eddie.

It is pretty annoying how no matter how long this run as gone, the gap to the teams below us just doesn't seem to be getting big enough for my liking.

Thought Villa were further behind. It's only 3 points ffs [emoji38]

Villa are actually doing very well considering they have the demands of Europe.

Are they doing well or did we just start really poorly?

The good thing is we've opened up a really nice gap on Tottenham and ManU - we weren't far off them that long ago, and they both seemed like teams that could turn it around eventually. Even with improved form they shouldn't be catching us now. Bournemouth got to hope don't have the depth to last the season. I think I'm quite confident of top 7 now but top 4/5 will require maintaining some proper good form. Hopefully Forest eventually (!) start to falter enough at least for us to catch them. Chelsea seem more fallible than before. But Man City could always turn it back on, and Villa impressive.

If Forest are title contenders so are we. Roll on the treble.

Heard it on the radio and heard it on MOTD -  title contenders? :howe:

Isak fitness will be a big thing too. Given his history I'm not sure I expect him to finish the season without a stretch out.

Imagine winning our next three league games and getting past Arsenal in the Cup, highly possible, then having City away, Forest home, Liverpool away and a cup final to come, amazing! Dream the impossible dream that we somehow win our next 6 in the league, we'd then have a genuine sweat to win the league ffs, and it's not even that unthinkable with how we are performing, not saying its going to happen, I'm not nearly as pissed as they other day (iykyk lol)

Villa are doing well to keep collecting points but their performances haven’t been nearly as good as last season in the league.

They’ll play a minimum of 4 CL games this year.   I fancy them to go deep

They have done well to stay in contention of European places though despite not hitting the heights of last season.

As the table stands it's still relatively tight in terms of the current top 8.

Makes Saturdays game even more important not to lose win and we stretch 7 points clear of Bournemouth

Looking at their team and they've got no real standouts?. A midfield of cook Christie and Adams shouldn't be enough to get me worried but they're obviously doing something right to be 7th top!

An away win and they're 1 point behind us. It's a 6 pointer. Nothing to take lightly whatsoever.

Aye definitely won't be taken lightly

Got a nagging feeling we won't win. Just for the fact 10 in a row seems so hard to do

7 points from next 3 games would be great. 9 would be amazing.

Agree. I think If the draw comes from this game then I wouldn’t be too downbeat as I think it pushes us to go and win the next two games after

From .com:

"Victory over Bournemouth here on Saturday would give Eddie Howe's side a perfect ten and move them on to 41 points from 22 games - matching their total at that stage in the 2022/23 season, when they went on to secure Champions League football."

21 games played, 55% of the season. 14 points above Spurs, 12 above Man Utd, 7 above Brighton, 3 above both Villa and MAN CITY, 1 above Chelsea. Only three points below third place (occupied by a team we have beaten twice this season). Only five points below second place (also occupied by a team we have beaten twice this season). We are so finishing fourth or above. Latter is my guess.

The thing is...this run has come at a time where others have dropped off and gone backwards.

So two things need to happen, all those teams need to carry on struggling and not go on a good run themselves and we need to keep winning constantly. I feel both are unlikely so it's going to get really tight for the remainder of the season and we need to handle the pressure and any distractions (league cup) well.

Our first 11 is excellent but it's fragile as fuck and only takes one or two out for things to take a turn. Saw signs of us dropping off against Wolves and on another night I feel we could have been punished so I hope it was just a little blip and players were pacing themselves as they will need to do.

22/23 we started strong , dropped off around the league cup period and then once we lost the final, sorted ourselves out and then went on another monster run.

This time we have had our rough spell earlier but now we need to sustain our good run for a lot longer which is gonna feel like a long old road if it's this same first 11 that need to carry us the distance.

That's why any kind of fresh blood in January could be a massive extra shot in the arm we need to carry us through to the end of the season.
