Am I right in saying that barring a heavy loss at Arsenal then we finish above any of Chelsea, Villa, Forest providing we match whichever of those teams results on the last day? My head hurts.

Depends on Forest's result on Sunday, as if they don't win l, then we likely don't even need another point to finish above them. Chelsea if we lose, we would need to match their result and keep ahead in the goal difference (we have scored more goals so finishing level will mean we still finish ahead) and Villa we just have to match their result.

Yeah, assuming by March you also mean by GD as well. Let’s say we have a narrow loss against Arsenal, Chelsea could win by 4 goals compared to us winning 1-0, and they would be above us. However it would be very very unlikely that Villa would make up what is essentially 15 goal difference, and Forest simply wouldn’t be able to catch us on points regardless.

Just got to make sure (if we require three points last game), that we don't have another Leicester game from two years ago.

I think if we had to win that, we would have. We obviously tried to win it but knowing we only needed a draw meant we had that fallback. I think b Everton knowing we have to win, we will.

I actually think Villa as well as Chelsea could drop points on the final day of the season but we just need to get our own house in order and get it sorted. Beating Arsenal is the dream scenario but while Everton is definitely tricky we’ll put them away at home. Obviously the longer it goes on and we aren't winning the more nervy it’ll get.

I’m oddly less confident about Everton at home than Arsenal away.  Everton at home is exactly the sort of fixture we’ve struggled with over the last couple of years - midtable sides coming to SJP to spoil and sit off.

Yes getting ahead in the first half will be key as it will force them out more and probably lead to a more routine win. The idea of us encamped in their half/edge of the box searching for a winner the whole second half 😫

Yeah, I agree.  The usual Howe blitz early on, get a goal and I reckon we cruise to a win - but it’ll get anxious if it’s 0-0 at HT

I’m not really arsed what other teams are doing. It’s been clear for a while we just needed to win our games as everyone else is pretty much doing the same. I think we’ll probably lose to Arsenal and the flapathon on here will monumental but we’ll get it done v Everton.

A daft away with and Arteta crying would make this far more enjoyable though.

The Man City v Bournemouth game could throw up an interesting scenario where MUFC spew it v Villa to keep the local rivals out of the CL. I doubt Man Utd fans would be arsed about taking another loss to keep them out of it. Would realistically need Bournemouth to win when the best I can see them doing is a draw.

Lads we’ll beat Everton at home in a must win game. I understand the nerves like but this team delivers when it counts.

We are beating arsenal tomorrow as well, we are going to do the business ourselves.

They’d lose to Villa even if they showed up. They’re rancid.

How so? We’re competing with other good teams and naturally need to get results to beat them

The likes of Man U and Spurs bringing the game into disrepute fielding weakened teams against our rivals doesn't help
