ExiledGeordie
Really interested to see how he plays today, expecting a much sharper performance
nufcjmc
Worked tirelessly and run his bollocks off but just not quite clicking at the minute for him.

Displayname
Alot better in the first half than he has been previously in the season. Does not work as a striker as we have seen many times before.
alexf
Almost an absolute worldie after beating two players. Frustrating that our two most dangerous players at the moment prefer to play in the exact same position. Was obviously quieter 2nd half due to position change, but his energy and workrate was back today. Much more like last season Gordon. 👍
timnufc22
He went down the line once and made that great run (some would say the difference with Barnes there is he scores, unlucky or not)… but the rest of the time he was passing the ball inside. He doesn't take on his man or mix his game up anywhere near enough. His game is better suited on the right, which leans towards raw burst of pace and aggression, going on the outsides Barnes’ technique is much better suited coming in from the left. Hang on, we are playing our player of the season on the wrong side of the pitch?

There is no ‘wrong side’. He’s good on both but player of the season or not, I feel his attributes are better matched to the right, for us he would work better there particularly in context of having more of a technician (Barnes) to play left. I'm not 100% sure, but I think that was the only time he dribbled past a player all game. Thought he worked hard for the team up top in the second half, which was nice to see after looking a bit lazy in the first few games. He'll come good, and happy for Howe to persist with him and play him into form rather than benching him to send a message.

Ronaldo
If you look at Gordon’s best games for us the vast vast majority have come at home when we’ve had good possession and, especially, a lot of the ball in the final third. Also, despite his pace and directness he’s never looked as effective as you might imagine on the counter attack. In a nutshell, the type of games we’ve played so far this season are the ones he’s historically never shone in. Dr Jinx
He doesn’t quite have the wand of a foot like Barnes but he can cover more ground and it’s probably fair to say all that running at opponents before Barnes comes on softens them up. But Eddie Howe will be under pressure to start Barnes now.. be interesting to see what he does.

The pace and aggression. But Bellamy was a terror on the counter - especially away from home. Gordon isn’t.
