England’s Anthony Gordon

Remember how he behaved when we got him? It's entirely possible, especially as Liverpool are his boyhood club.

He's shown real growth as a person, not only player, since that time. Ref. how he handled the backlash after getting subbed at the end of 22/23 season, and how he's conducted himself since then on and off the pitch.

He's a very ambitious and driven person, so if he thinks he has a better chance of achieving his goals at his boyhood club I think we'd be naive to think he wouldn't press for a transfer.

That being said, I don't think he'd behave the same way he did at Everton. He'll handle it more professionally, and if a potential transfer is blocked I fully expect him to respect the clubs decision and continue to progress together with us.

Why are people thinking he's leaving? Personally i don't think Liverpool need him, they are flush with forwards. Surely it was a tentative enquiry when they thought they could get on the cheap thinking we were desperate to sell.  Personally I think he's going nowhere for now.

Hope we stays but we already have his replacement in Barnes. Not a like for like but good enough and very productive in goals and assists.

Step down though.

Lee Ryder and Luke Edwards reporting that "Newcastle source" are fearing a Liverpool bid. Interesting that we're seemingly pushing this.

I'm fairly sure the club use Edwards as a bullshit mouthpiece.

Was just about to perk up and say the same thing....why is everyone going on about this?  Clearly confirmed that they made an 'enquiry' which got rebuffed.  The rest of it is just shite.  They couldn't afford him either.

Don't think he will leave.

However, if so, that left hand side will have a lot more options to pick from than the right.

We still going on about the enquiry? That was way back when we were all excited about the euros

Everton fans were chasing him through the street in his car to be fair  Can see why he wanted out of that mess.

Makes sense to move back to that city then. Especially for Everton's biggest rivals.

That should smooth things over! 🤣

In complete isolation I'd be happy with Harvey Barnes as first choice on the left tbh. However, selling Anthony Gordon to Liverpool would be one of the worst possible things we could do this summer.

Aye forget thinking about the profits for a second. Gordon/Bruno/Isak should be untouchable. Selling him and replacing him with anyone else is 2-3 steps back. He's one of the best left wingers in Europe.

Would hate to lose Gordon. Not just because I feel he's ready to take next step, but his durability too is so big. Just don't get many players that can play with his intensity and not be regularly injured with niggles.
