Lewis Miley: signs six-year contract extension (Official)

Recommended Posts

I never have ITK goss but from the Ipswich end I can confirm legs in this. Work to do though.

amazed it’s true though given it will mean we have to name a 21 man European squad. Aligns with Shadow Puppets saying another midfielder and could work great if we keep Willock as 6th midfielder and then trade out for Miley next year after he’s played 35 games.

Keeping him around and not playing him would be dumber. Last thing he needs is a repeat of last year. At some point he’s got to show it in a string (like 20-30 consecutive  games) of competitive matches. He won’t get that here. If we can bring in another midfielder, BEK or the Dutch fella, send Miley out to playing side like Ipswich. I reckon next summer Bruno could go and then we hopefully have a plug-in replacement in Miley.

If we can’t get another MF in then I agree, Miley should stay.

I agree about him getting experience if the conditions are right to let him go, but there is no world where Miley will be a replacement for Bruno next summer unless several things have gone very, very wrong.

It would be smart move to loan someone like Sabitzer for UCL and loan out Miley for experience.

Nah he should be playing here, I'd put him ahead of Willock tbh and I'm sure he'll be ahead of Ramsay during the 6-month introduction period.

There’s no way he’ll be ahead of Ramsey beyond a few weeks at most. Nothing to support that at all.

If we get another midfielder in that can offer something a bit different, I don’t see why people are so against this. El Khannouss would have been perfect. But I think that ship has sailed with his rumoured release clause expiring and the Ramsey deal.

He needs to be playing regularly, he won’t get that here. I also think he is a bit positionless in our system. Gets a bit lost in the wide areas and I actually prefer him deeper. But he has Tonali and Bruno to contend with there and needs a lot of trust from Howe to play there, I would say.

Finally, tin hat on. Right now, I don’t think he is as good as most on here make out and whilst he has loads of potential and I like watching him. He needs game time to develop.

With everyone fit, he is 5th or 6th choice here and 2 of our 3 starters in CM have exemplary fitness records. We even go with the 3-4-2-1/3-5-2 at times and play with one less CM.

Non-starter unless we get another CM, anyway.

In terms of numbers, not playing style. Maybe by then Ramsey has become very influential or A. N. Other that we signed has filled that creative void.

Willock is the last man, and will likely be shifted the first opportunity that arises imo.
