oldtype
It’s freakish how he learns and gets better in real time in the middle of the game. By this time next year I think we’ll be talking about him as one of our best players.
Casey
This lad can be a total footballer like. Cruyff would be spunking over his potential. Has the calmness of Carrick at 19, just slows down the game and does the right things 9/10 in every position asked of him. Have to echo what others have said too, so impressed with the way he learns during the game. You could see he was under the cosh early with the quickness of their wing play & the overloads, then the adjustments started happening; spacing, timing and mad levels of poise and he's pocketing Barcola, at 19 in a pressure-game in the Champions league. Special talent. Edited January 28 by Casey
alexf
Other players his age you would think there heart would be racing and head would be spinning from those opening ten minutes. Stuck to his task, caught up to the speed of the game and adjusted accordingly. Ended up shutting down most future attacks down his side. Speaks volumes I think that firstly Eddie picked him ahead of the experienced Trippier and secondly that he didn't feel the need to protect him and bring Trippier in when it looked like it was gonna be a tough night. He has faith now in Miley and it's being rewarded by his performances.

bobbydazzla
He must be catching the eye of the most prestigious clubs all over Europe. He could easily be wearing a Real Madrid or Bayern shirt and look completely at home. I’m conscious of how RTG that sounds, but I rarely indulge in hyperbole about players. Need to do all we can to persuade him he’s becoming the linchpin of an NUFC side that’s aiming for the top and get him signed up long term. You’d imagine we’d be pushing against an open door. Sibierski
Once again showed his class. He was abused first 10 by Bracola, could’ve lost his head with that penalty, but he just grew into the game and shut Bracola down after that. Immense stuff. The level of maturity this kid has is insane, he is an absolute gem! 2nd UCL campaign where he doesn’t look out of place. Get him tied down before Sky catch on and ramp up some bullshit narrative linking him to Man City or something.
Mikky
Playing him RB has been a master stroke by EH - clocks up a lot of playing miles which he needs, plus adds a whole new dimension to his game, some of which he can take into CM Just blown away by him these last 2/3,months

Lush Vlad
Arguably the calmest and most languid player on the pitch last night. A 19 year old playing away against the European champions in his fourth different position this season. Mental. He had a rough start to the game. Was pulled about a bit positionally. They had overloads against him and they were looking to get in behind a lot. He was up against pure pace early (and all night TBF). Got a dodgy penalty call against him. Was he bothered? Was he fuck Edited January 29 by Lush Vlad

As I said in a post here months ago Bobby, when some were doubting him and touting him for a Championship loan, if he ever left Newcastle it would be to go up the chain not down it. He's been catching the eye of top clubs for years and even before he caught the eye of many Newcastle supporters. Before his current "breakthrough" he's been involved with England at every level, normally in age groups above his age. He's been well monitored by the top clubs. Was he fuck There was a moment late on when he was absolutely surrounded by Barcelona plays on the right side of our box, and he just turns inside away from them and chips a perfect ball with his weaker left foot across to Hall on the left. He's just so composed and technically perfect.

Him and Hall provide such a composed outlet in positions that are usually poor players on the ball.

Holloway
This is it, the composure. I can't remember seeing this in a 19 year old at the top level, anywhere
