I've not seen it yet.  But my mate messaged me saying he had some really nice words for the fans in his pre-game interview.  So I think you're right there.

I don’t think he moves as such, he glides, he teleports! He’s got ninja skills as he’s effortlessly all over the place. Like there’s more than one of him

His one touch pass play is just amazing and is the difference to where we are now to where we have been by making our play quicker. He did it loads last night.

Kudos to those who were calling for Sandro to be moved more centrally / into a holding position and for Bruno to be pushed further forward.

Didn't really see it myself to begin with, I must admit, but it has turned out to be an absolute masterstroke

Yep, I didn’t think he had the press-resistance for the role but regardless if he does or not he moves the ball so quickly and efficiently it doesn’t really matter.

His athleticism on transition makes him a slightly better fit than Bruno there as well.

He's not as press resistant as Bruno but sadly for the opposition, you need to get near him to actually press him.

Press resistance isn’t just holding off challenges. Moving the ball so quickly that you can’t be closed down is also press resistance.

I think teams target Bruno, 'cos as good as he is, he'll give you the ball a few times a game from overplaying, and you're straight in at our incredibly slow CB's. Tonali nullifies this as he's harder to press and doesn't push up or break lines like Bruno does. 

 

I agree with the first paragraph but the second paragraph is a bit odd. Bruno is one of the most press-resistant players in the league. Tonali gives the ball away more than him.

I suppose I disagree. I think Bruno is very press resistant, but I see him semi-regularly (once or twice a game) get caught with the ball immediately in front of our CB's. He's generally trying to turn his marker or buy a free kick under pressure. Sometimes this doesn't work. No player is perfect, but it's a higher risk strategy than having Tonali there, who moves the ball quickly and accurately away from opposition pressure (making him press resistant in a different way).

 

I think our play has benefited from this.
