Dynamic, athletic, mint stamina, clever on the ball, intelligent, drives forward, carries it well into space and can pick a pass. He's got the lot tbh Great shout. This is bang on the money. A powerhouse but a baller too.

Giving fouls against them is contrary to that goal. See also the Livramento booking when I'm convinced every one or their throw ins during the match took longer. I genuinely think Arteta needs to go from an Arsenal point of view like. They seem to heavily resort on set plays and shithousing now. If they focused simply on playing the football that they absolutely can, they'd be a lot closer to Liverpool.

I don't even want to give him the credit when he compliments us because he doesn't have a clue what he's talking about. He's the one saying Tonali is the next Rodri but next week he will be saying that we aren't good enough for top 4.

He might find himself under pressure towards the end I think. They should get top 4 but I don't think they'll be challenging for the title or even clearly in 2nd place. Feels like last season was their shot. This time around it feels like a fixture anyone can get something from.
STM
Their football has got worse, that's the concern. Their signings have been awful: Zinchenko Jesus Calafiori (still time) Timber Havertz Trossard Merino Sterling Viera Kiwior Some of these have been good in spells but I'd argue none (so far) have looked like good investments for the medium/long term. Imagine had half of the names above been better signings, they'd have likely won the league. Fuck me, how hard was it for them to go and sign Ivan Toney or whatever. Just some bizarre decision making and its no wonder the relationship with Edu came to an end.
Collage
Always feel like Sandro and Tripps have a special bond or whatever, Tripps seemed to really take care of Tonali when he first came here and didn't speak a word of English. They've done stupid things/gone through tough times and maybe can relate through that as well. Or it's just me over-analysing single-minded footballers... Memphis
https://inews.co.uk/sport/football/newcastle-sandro-tonali-redemption-inside-story-3481132?ito=link_share_article-top Quote Eddie Howe’s side are a team of many talents, with rapier forward Alexander Isak on a eight-game scoring streak in the Premier League and chasing a record ninth if he passes a late fitness. But it is the manager’s decision to switch Tonali to number six and Bruno Guimaraes to No 8 at the start of December that has unlocked the potential of this team. With the team set up that way the results have been: played seven, won seven. It was no “Hail Mary” call from Howe, who has bided his time with Tonali – making sure he was physically ready to fulfil the requirements of being a Premier League ‘six’. Newcastle have become big on performance data this season and it was only when Tonali was hitting the right numbers that Howe felt ready to make the change. Quote Tonali’s success has thrilled those at Newcastle who saw what he went through during his suspension. He is a hugely popular character in the dressing room and around the club. A straw poll of a few who have worked with him identifies a familiar theme: “generous”, “kind”, “hard-working” and “mentally strong”. “He’s very level, just a very good professional,” Howe says. “I said last year you wouldn’t really know [the difficult situation he’s in]. He’s exactly the same character now he was in that difficult moment and that’s a big compliment to him. “He’s very focused on the future, very focused on him being his best, delivering what the team needs.” Those close to him speak of a burning desire to repay the faith of supporters and a club who immediately threw a protective arm around him when news initially broke about his gambling addiction. The whole piece is worth reading. Very very good. He's such a big reason for our recent success and we've not had a player of his qualities in a very long time. Our midfield hole has been filled and the link to attack is slicker too. There are other factors but him as 6, and Bruno as 8 is massive. Very exciting too as he isn’t peak yet. Ikon
I like how focused he is all the time. He rarely looks sloppy. So professional and his lower level is usually quite high. On top on everything else he does great I mean. Italian tactical consistency and just class. Edited January 15 by Ikon
Lush Vlad
Bruno with that lazy, tame as fuck shot at the end that was never on. All off the back of Tonali’s 50 odd yard lung buster. Then just trots back. Tonali puts in a 30-40 yard sprint to win it back for him
