The only reason I've put Isak above him in terms of importance is the fact that we don't have a decent backup striker.

This guy is the difference maker in so many of our games last season. If only, we had him in the Champions League in those crucial games against PSG and Milan.

Bossed the midfield - gave Enciso no time on the ball - constantly closing him down.

Makes himself available for return balls as well. Must be horrific playing against him, he seems to be everywhere.

No hyperbole - but I believe he is our best player - he makes everything look easy.

His role in the team has turned a season that looked like it was going to be miserable into the best in our modern history. He is that good and that important to us.

On a side note, that day the transfer window closed last year and we hadn’t signed any first teamers and everyone was (understandably) negative and questioning our ambitions. Who’d have foreseen this season coming? I certainly didn’t.

Many pundits had West Ham to finish above us. Although I'll have to admit, I was quite pessimistic on our chances at that moment.

I think there was alot of questions. Sandro looked ok in the games he played before he was suspended but he was in a new country and didn't speak the language and had this giant stone hanging over his head. I think most supporters didn't know what to expect. We now know why @Milanista was gutted enough to leave the forum. He's a fantastic player.

@Milanista’s last post was when Sandro was about to join. July two years ago, on page 169 of this thread. Wish he’d come back and gloat a little bit about his prediction on Tonali being world-class. His lengthy essays on Italian football and players were a joy to read.
