His crossing and passing has been woeful for a while and it is even costing us goals, as we're overcommitting and he's hitting the first man. Needs a reality check if he thinks he deserves a 'bigger club'. Year long gambling ban and garbage performances much of the season. I was half joking before, and I know he has shown real quality, but I feel like he is on a higher pedestal because he's Italian. He's performed like a total old school british clogger the last while. Won the ball up high and got a decent attack from it. Basically our only way to put pressure on. He gets in a great position and with loads of men committed forward. While his covering can still be excellent, he's become very bog standard in possession. He had those lovely quick little first-time passes last year but they've seemingly gone. Agree but it's hard to say how much is because the team is functioning quite badly and therefore he needs to defend a lot more. Sandrotastico Posted February 8 Share Posted February 8 Think he did the running of about 4 players yesterday - he has been off the boil but he looks absolutely shot and at times, unsure what the hell he's doing. He should be told to focus on what he does best and that (to me) is a ball winning disciplined DM, not someone that over commits and leaves us in the shit, probably due to his frustration to try and make things happen.
