WilliamPS
The transfer budget won’t be fixed until they know what European competition they’re playing in next season, so anyone who claims to know what it is talking rubbish

I would be extremely surprised if we can’t afford to splash out on two new starters though - CB, RW, well 3 if you include a gk. My complete and utter guesswork is that it’ll be the above and then with squad sales we’ll try and improve the squad in general (whatever that equates to financially) Edited April 12 by ExiledGeordie

Mbuemo ticks both boxes. I agree that we need a RW, there’s no doubt about it. Personally I would rather have Cunha and a different RW than Mbeumo. If we can’t afford him. Also not THAT impressed with Mbeumo in general play. Our style of play going mostly wide can be a bit too predictable at times in some games. I want us to have something different there through the middle as well. Which would also give more space for the likes of Isak and Gordon and so on. midds
I'd also like to think we could add depth by loaning a couple of players too, they needn't be worldies just extra bodies than could come in and allow our best players to rest up now and again, there's going to be a lot of games next season regardless so we need to add numbers AND quality. I'd suggest buying the quality and loaning the numbers, I'm thinking solid, reliable players. More like a Barkley than an Asensio for example

This past week has proper ramped home how little journalists know when it comes to transfers and budgets etc, last week Hope wrote an article saying he reckons we have a transfer budget of around £50m, now he's the one linking us to Cuhna for £50m
Vaj
One of our main problems over the years is that we struggle to break teams down that sit back, especially if we go 1-0 down. Having someone like Cunha who can play AM with Bruno and Tonali behind in these games could be a huge difference maker. He wouldn’t ‘replace’ Joelinton because of the amount of games we play and the different things we need in different games. Would be a great signing for me, my only issue would be that we need other things more urgently and presumably don’t have enough to spend to cover them all. The Prophet
I'm reaching here, but... ...is it possible a £50 million budget is in terms of amortized amounts? So for example a £50 million player on a five year correct would be £10 million plus wages.
Dr.Spaceman
Why even bother speculating, nobody outside of the directors will know the true figure. I'm glad we haven't got a clue how much we can spend.

Having someone quality who can step in for Isak, Gordon, Bruno, Joelinton and possibly Murphy is a game changer. He also provides goals from midfield, something that we lack in real abundance. And for those saying he's a bit of a cunt, reference Gordon, Anthony. I don’t remember Gordon ever smacking the glasses off a member of the oppositions back room staff? Or flinging his arms around, literally screaming at his team mates when he doesn’t receive the ball? Cunha may be a good player, but he’s clearly trouble. Bunk Moreland
I remember all the journalist talk of us only having £50m-60m in the summer we bought Tonali, Barnes, Livramento, Hall (albeit on loan) and Minteh Edited April 12 by Bunk Moreland

McCormick
Anyone with access to our finances and knowledge of PSR limits will more or less know the maximum we can spend (before sales) under the rules this summer. Obviously which European competition we qualify for will have a considerable impact on these figures too, though. According to a few podcasts I've listened to, he's a sound lad and the wolves players love him. Ok, so he's clearly got a spark to him, but that's football. There's many a great player who've had an edgy side. Yes i don't like the flailing arms but you could see it as a frustrated player who wants more from his side. Am I making excuses? Perhaps. I'd back Eddie and the team to be the judge on character. He's an absolute class player and within 6 months those who don't fancy him might look a tad silly. Paully
Yeah I’d absolutely love Cunha - he looks class at Wolves so Eddie will make him into an absolute superstar! He also adds to our Samba mafia!
STM
Theres a pattern to the journalists reporting in transfer windows: 1. They only have knowledge of British based players, therefore haven't a clue who we are looking at abroad. 2. They never get the transfer budget correct. Never. 3. At the start of the window, we get linked to obvious good players who are available and those players often end up elsewhere and it's reported as "missed out on targets". My guess is that we will be linked with Cunha and Huijsen, but they will end up at Arsenal and Liverpool. The first I expect to hear of incoming is in the build up to the PSR deadline, when there is a scramble.
andycap
If we don't have a big funds why are we linked to cunha. Go and get cherki from lyon would be considerably cheaper.

Yes there’s been a couple of incidents for whatever reasons, and they don’t look very nice. Having said that, it doesn’t define entirely that person X is 100% this or that. Hopefully he’ll have learned something from it. From a pure footballing perspective I just really really think his attributes would take us up another dimension, easily. Imo for what I think and visualise in my head I reckon for what he’d bring to our arsenal and he’d make the team and other players around him so much more dangerous. My view on it is that while 60m is a lot of money I can see it being a bargain in the near future when I consider how much of a difference he could/would make for us. I reckon that it’s much easier to find a CB that is cheaper than 50m but one that still brings 90% of what the more expensive one does. I see a player like Cunha helping us to score so many more goals in general, and not just because of his goals/assists. MickMack
I know not the exact same position but I think if we signed him he could be our Cantona, something about his play and the edge he has reminds me of him, coupled with Isak it could be terrifying
