I see this stuff alot and I'm sure it's a simple slip and you meant 3 windows and not 3 years but i have seen it so often that it shows how easy things can start getting repeated as fact.

2 years ago we signed Tonali, Barnes, Tino, Hall and Minteh.

3 years ago we signed Isak, Botman, Pope and made Targett permanent.

So not fuck all and a large reason why we had to slow down and try and balance books the following windows.

It was a simple typo

From Hope's article:

NEWCASTLE UNITED are exploring a move for MARSEILLE centre back Leonardo Balerdi. The 26-year-old Argentina international has been impressing under Roberto de Zerbi and has drawn enquiries from Juventus in recent weeks, having worked previously with their coach Igor Tudor at Marseille. However, with Juventus juggling a number of targets and their budget limited, Newcastle have sensed an opportunity in the window and are seeing if a deal can be struck around £35million.

Not going to get in a flap yet but if we don’t end up with several major additions to the squad by the end of the window then it’ll be a complete and utter disgrace and will make me question what the fuck is going on behind the scenes. Howe is holding this all together, if he goes it all crumbles very quickly. We needed to act faster than this and it’s already a major concern that we haven’t got anyone in yet as it just pushes progress for the season back further and further

I’d assume that if this transfer window ends up being a failure - which I know is subjective- you might see a more hands on approach from PIF going forwards.

I’m yet to panic in fairness, though I did assume we’d have a few in for the start of pre-season. Universally acknowledged that managers prefer that, and Howe said as much after the Everton game. The squad is about 13 players deep and we are an Isak/Bruno/Tonali injury away from disaster, especially given the (minimum) of 8 extra games. We need 5 or 6.

Not the fastest, loves a slide tackle and good in the air.

That could actually be a hindrance if you believe the stories about how slow the Saudis are to do anything.

Howe is part of the recruitment team, has been since he became manager.

He'll be identifying the players he wants. He won't be negotiating prices or contracts.

Reminder that basically no one other than the teams unaffected by PSR have done anything meaningful yet. Kelleher to Brentford is basically the only other major signing by anyone else, unless any of the latest Brighton regens are going straight into the team.

Good to see that Marseille fans rate him highly.

A Ciaran Clark red card saved us from someone doing the same about Joelinton
