rebelrouser
I don't get the hate for Mitchell. He thought our recruitment strategy was poor, and I think he was correct. Exclusively chasing overpriced PL talent is not a good recruitment model for us in our current situation.
Schecter
I used to think he was brilliant and a morally rock-solid journalist. However, he's descended into the dark side and is not just reporting the facts anymore. It's pretty clear he's changed his approach, and I would imagine it's financially motivated. It's not just because he's saying things I don't like, it's obvious he's being fed lines, and it's a sad indictment of football journalism.
The Prophet
Newcastle is once again inquiring about Malick Thiaw. Feels like this one is nailed on like.

Really?...he was the guy who was supposed to fix it, but ended up doing bugger all and quiting at the first sign of any diffiuclty, and managing to piss off our best player in the process. He is the Gullit of our recent non-coaching management team

Both him and Romano built up their reputation over the past five years to reach exactly this point - having enough solid credentials so that people lap up every bit of propaganda that they're now paid to shill. The only surprise is that we haven't seemingly paid them off yet.

We were bad sellers and it caused us to panic sell last summer.

It nowt to do with where they are from and everything to do with minimising risk, because we cant afford a dud. If you sign cheap foreign players, theres much more likelihood that they wont be good enough. We dont mind signing players from abroad, providing they are clearly exceptional. Theres as much risk in signing domestic players. Having "experience" doesnt make them any less risky or better. Weve had more than our fair share of duds by going for the "less risky" player with "experience"....exactly how we were stuck with the likes of Smith, Geremi, Taylor, Nolan for years.
