I know it's paranoia but it really feels like the cartel are sabotaging our transfers on purpose.

 

The fear from them in what Eddie could do with better players is real in my opinion, and that grows the club in turn, something they are all clearly scared of.  Which is indisputable as new rules were created immediately after our takeover, created because of us, to stop us.

 

I doubt it stretches to buying players they didn't really want, but with the bent rules as they are, they can afford it.

 

I know it's nonsense, but surprising it wouldn't be.

No. But if Isak went, and Wissa joined,  then possibly of Gallagher and Scalvini/Guehi in this window increases I suspect.

There surely will be some of this going on. I mean, they brought in new financial rules basically to stop us. 
 

Some of it reminds me of Van Persie being bought by Man Red to stop Man Blue winning the league. That said, Chelsea are mental and buy everyone so it might just be that fever spreading among the top 4.

I feel like us seemingly being content with having 5 midfielders in the squad (one of them being permanently injured) implies to me that we might be playing a different system a lot of the time this season with a 2-man midfield. If that were the case we need 3 strikers minimum in the squad really.

I couldn't see that as acceptable if we leave a gaping hole in the CB and CM positions. Maybe scratch CM. But a CB is vital.

Nope. Haven’t replaced Longstaff. Need a midfielder in. Probably Rudoni if we don’t sell Isak, someone like Ederson if we do, along with Wissa.

It's not paranoia, I just wrote in the Isak thread how they all had some sort of pact not to sell to us in our first season after the PIF buyout. Look at how Man U carried on with the Lingard loan carry on. They got the PL to draft special rules to stop us man, it's in writing.
