Jackson is an excellent fit for Howe's system imo. He presses a lot and is good at creating space for others. Howe clearly envisions a lot of goals coming from wingers cutting inside so bad finishing is potentially less of an issue.

 

But 80m for this caliber of player seems ridiculous on its face. What the hell do I know though.

Chelsea originally valued him at £100m a few weeks ago didn't they?  Pretty obvious they're setting a ridiculous base price to try and con a club into thinking there getting value when he's sold for £60m which realistically is a £20m overpay.

we had all summer to sort ourselves, get ready for PL, bed new ones in with friendlies, and now we need to bring in 4-5 players in 3 weeks in a hurry after missing out on number of targets already.

 

first three PL games are hard, Villa away, Liverpool home, Leeds away. we need a strong start so we can afford bit of a fallback once CL starts mid September which will be brutal in this new format.
