Who wouldn’t want to keep one of the best strikers on the planet, man?

Three years.

(I think we’ll sell him next summer no questions but I’d love him this season)

Fair enough, am I correct in thinking you want to keep him based upon an understanding he gives everything until he's sold?I'm guessing you don't want him half assing around looking barely interested?

It’s more the message it sends, if we cave in, what’s to stop other clubs using similar tactics next summer for Tonali, Hall, Tino, etc?

Big clubs have shown interest in Gordon, Bruno, Tonali and Tino, and will have no doubt been trying to turn them behind the scenes.

Fortunately it's typically more rare to have one lose their head completely in the manner Isak has.

Also, the club does have to take some responsibility and be more careful about promising new contracts and then going back on that, which has ultimately been the source of this whole issue.

Let's get the new DOF and CEO in, tighten that all up and move forward.

I don’t believe he’ll half ass it if he’s “stuck” here for this season, no. He’ll play his ass off.

Why are you only capable of looking at this in isolation. You can't see what time it is? This is the first time our resolve has been tested and your advocating folding like a pack of cards.

We will have money to spend regardless of this, have you seen how much money gets pissed away in this league?

What makes you think we'll have money to spend regardless going forward?

What happens if we buy the one striker and keep Isak, and the striker we bought gets injured and Isak is still acting up?

If we don't sell him and we fail to qualify for the CL next season we are seriously fucked. We'd probably have clubs taking the piss with ÂŁ80 million bids for him due to real desperation from our side at that point.

Wanting ÂŁ150 million and getting ÂŁ130 million this window is not folding like a pack of cards.

We're going to have to take some kind of hit on this because we screwed up with the contract thing and he's lost his head.

Either we take less of a hit now or we likely take a far greater hit later.

The issue if he does stay is any bad performance will be seen as downing tools, any injury will be seen as faking to keep his price down etc.

He has made it deliberately toxic.

It will be such a ridiculous circus that the media will be milking and exploiting every second of every day.

Hard to imagine the team having a good season with all that going on.

How much impact did it have on Chelsea when Gallas was allowed to join Arsenal, after he refused to play for them and threatened to score own goals if he didn’t get the move?

How is that similar to selling the best striker in Europe last season.

Wait a minute. Re Isaks case, it is not just a big club coming in and show interest in our players. I would be fine with that if it is that simple

What makes Isaks case that fucking toxic is there is a blatant attempt by Liverpool, Isaks agent and Isak himself, to collaborate and fuck us up. The communication, the timing, the relationship to the Ekitike deal, the price, the refusal to train and play etc. All of them are a plan to fuck us up.

Sorry, the line has to be drawn here, no fucking way you let these guys win. Absolutely no. 0%. I would rather  take the PSR hit then make this a precedent case to these cunts.

as said, if Liverpool did nothing and just offer 130m for Isak this summer, I think Isak is wearing the red shirt already. But this is not the case. It’s not a common transfer. It’s a blatant attack from Liverpool side.

Because we have a budget, of course we would have less to spend it he sat our 3 years but realistically this isn't happening but it is important we call his bluff. Why would we lower the fee for the club which has unsettled him? That is literally stupid and self destructive. Btw why do you never respond to points raised and continue to rattle off your own talking points?

Why would we be desperate if we didn't qualify for the champions league? Are we budgeting champions league qualification? If so we are very optimistic.

Again to repeat. Selling to Liverpool at any price is a bad idea, I think even you can see they've created this situation and giving in would be a bad look. But selling to them for a discount is frankly laughable and very short sighted.

Who's to say Liverpool will even offer £130m? They only offered £110m so far, I have a feeling they might think we ain't paying more than £120m max. If that.

Exactly, Liverpool seem to think they’re setting the price for Isak and have set about to weaken our position with his cunt of an agent.

My comment is in regards to those that have said if we let him leave then others might do the same when other clubs come in for them, I have asked how much impact it had on Chelsea when they let Gallas go under similar circumstances? Did all of their players behave in a similar manner when clubs were interested in them?

Most effective way to fuck us up is to wait until deadline day and offer the full amount, which I think they will do. It's not just a case of wanting our player, it's a case of wanting our player and trying to put the brakes on our ascent at the same time.

Even then, the conditions of a sale would probably not have been met. Money plus two strikers is what we are commonly hearing. Money alone won't be entertained. And right now we are so far down the list of strikers that we'd be extremely lucky to land our Callum Wilson replacement by next Tuesday, much less the Isak one.

True, but if they offer the money we're asking and we reject it, Isak doubles-down on his stance.

My reading of this situation is it's all been orchestrated because they are unwilling to pay the going rate. Not sure why that suddenly changes.

Think it's time Howe forgets his PL proven bollocks, bearing the situation we are in, just straight into Europe, Brazil, Argentina even the championship there will be strikers and he needs to take risks and if it doesn't work out at least we only have to sweat till January .

No problem, we can triple-down our stance by giving him a PS5 and tell him he can stay home for three years
