Our best windows have come without champions league football. That was more to do with the likes of Staveley though.

The best one was Tino Tonali hall

after the bruno burn trippier jan window

Josh Acheampong And promise him significant game time.

Great shout. Would be delighted as it’s back to picking up the Tino, Hall type players.

And that the Saudi project was a bit unknown and exciting.

It wasn’t for that season though. Turned out that way. Best one was January 22, Burn, Trippier and Bruno

Keep (if possible):

Tino, Thiaw, Burn, Hall, Miley, Ramsey, Bruno, Tonali, Woltamade

Not necessarily sell, but would listen to offers for:

Botman, Joelinton, Elanga, Barnes, Gordon, Wissa

Sell or release:

Pope, Ramsdale, Trippier, Schar, Willock, Murphy

Pretty much agree with this, but I’d have Wolt on the listen to offers list. Wissa on the release one.

Can't disagree with the Wissa suggestion, but was thinking we might need a year of him proving himself a little to get an acceptable offer for him. If we sell now, we're likely to make a large loss.

Just need to replace the 31 goals between them this season then.

I'm not suggesting selling both. Flogging and replacing all of our wingers would be madness.

So yeah squad planning needs to be a consideration, but if we're offered good money for either, I'd certainly be open to it.

Not for sale: Bruno, Hall, Miley

Would love to keep but they're probably leaving: Tino, Tonali

Only sell for silly money: Thiaw, Gordon, Ramsey

Sell for a reasonable fee: Botman, Woltemade, Osula, Barnes

No one will offer anything decent, so might as well keep as backups: Joelinton, Murphy, Burn, Pope, Schär

Get to fuck: Ramsdale, Targett, Willock, Elanga

Wissa: Wissa

Nae pressure Ross Wilson, don't fuck it up

We need to sign a DM this summer, we're getting exposed too often with a huge gap between our defence and midfield which basically allows the opposition to run at us. It happened today, all season and you could likely pull up examples from last season so unless we address this still going to be an issue.

Defensively we've been poor with Hall and Tino when there is a turnover, you've had examples in recent weeks and today before their second where Tino is almost in the DM position causing Thiaw to get dragged out wide. Granted both good fullbacks, but we're leaving space to be exploited which just relies with a bit of technical ability and pace to cause us issues.

This summer will be huge. If I was choosing top three positions to fill:

1) GK

2) DM

3) ST

We clearly need more than this so will require a sale or two depending on how much change they opt to make. If we don't have European football then you could argue the squad would be bloated due to less games and Howe usually opts to use 13-14 players for minutes.

Problem is Howe has been asked this before (Regarding DM) and his answer is always that he doesn't feel there's an issue it's just about delivering the plan better.

Also, good luck finding a DM reasonably fitting within PSR and that is actually a good player

That is concerning. The Brighton away match sticks out so I went to double check and this was their second goal, the first goal was also similar with an throughball splitting Botman and Thiaw:

There are loads of instances where this has happened, pretty much all three goals against Liverpool at H were from the edge of the 18 yard box. Youve then got several errors from Pope in amongst our games with just poor decision making. This has been a systematic issue right across the season. Either the players are switching off after 80 minutes and individually not doing their jobs or teams work this out and eventually one chance is going to get put away.

The shape in this screen grab from us is horrendous.

The space they had at times today was obscene

You don’t think there is a single DM in world football, who we can sign that could play the position to a PL level?

Yes there's loads. But it needs to be a DM who not just has the ability to play in the PL, but one who has the ability to take us to the next level

Well I’m of the opinion simply having a specialist in the position would take us up a level. But if that’s how you see it that’s fine but you can make that argument again any single player in any single position? Considering we don’t have one rn, I’d say having a halfway decent one is an improvement

Left-wing and midfield are possibly the two areas I think we're locked in quality-wise and depth-wise. I'd sell Willock and get a squad-filler as 6th in the queue but otherwise we're fine.

You'll be happy with Will Hughes or something then? He normally just sits now and he's been playing half decent in the PL for a few years now. Think he would take us up the next level?

Will Hughes is 30. But I don’t understand the argument you are making. Surely every transfer you make is to take us up to the next level? What are you suggesting, we don’t try? Xhaka isn’t elite these days but he would have definitely improved our midfield

Ive never suggested anything at the sort. Just pointing out that (imo) any player we sign needs to be more than just half decent a half decent pl player
