NUFC Transfer Rumours

I think Ramsey is being overlooked here, as usual. Expect him to come into his own in this respect as he becomes more comfortable at the club.

He's not a leader which was the point I was making. I’ve said from day 1 I thought he’d be a good buy and maintain that but he’s not a strong character at all.

Our transfers prior to last summer had been superb.

Its easy to be critical of the club when entirely ignoring a rigged system or our problems with DoFs coming and going or our star striker throwing his toys out of the pram.

Yes there have been mistakes but our fans vastly over dramatise them and vastly overestimate how well other clubs do in their transfer windows.

Arsenal for example had terrible transfer business... until they didnt. Liverpool "won the window", until they didn't, Chelsea, Man Utd (until last summer) and Spurs have cocked up more transfer windows than I've had dinners.

The only club that consistently get it right can sign whom they want, when they want, without punishment.

As for looking longingly towards Brighton or Bournemouth, while there are lessons to be learned from those clubs, the day we start adopting their strategy is the day we might as well pack in.

Weve made mistakes, its not (necessarily)an indicator towards the future.

Bang on this, the discussion seems to be about absolutes and not the intricacies of what went wrong, over-dramatisation and under-appreciation. So much went against us and at a time that no one was steering the ship, so many mitigations in a sea of mishaps and adversity.

This summer, with the deck stacked more favourably, will be much better and will right a lot of wrongs and next season will put this season where it belongs, in the archives of lessons learned.

I Dennis Wise'd him last night. An almost meritless way to look at a player, yes, but he looked better than that El Mala I see getting so much hype. El Mala looks a Gyokeres battering ram, this Pardo lad seemed to have much better feet.

3 good options to replace Gordon with Nusa, Banzouma Toure and this lad from Lille.

I was big on Nusa but don’t think he’s had the best season, the lad from Lille looks a real talent and might be the best of 3.

how do 🚨 EXCLUSIVES work these days like? considering Fernandez-Pardo (+Nusa and Toure) broke on NUFC Blog over 2 weeks ago?

https://nufcblog.co.uk/exclusive-newcastle-eye-fernandez-pardo-nusa-and-toure-as-gordon-heads-for-exit-door-28422

Im assuming the likes of hope have some sources whereby Nufcblog are speculating?

Fair point though and given the state of journalism it's a valid question haha

I'm sure last summer Hope delivered two exclusives:

1. Newcastle only had £60m to spend in the summer

2. Newcastle plot £60m move for Cunha

Hope's only good for digging up the dirt on managers. He's success rate on transfers must be pretty low.

Hope has as much reliable info as you and me. Ie none. Since Staveley left NUFC is essentially a closed shop regarding appointments or signings

Pretty sure he broke Woltemade no? At least I have a vague memory of nobody believing it at first partly because Hope was reporting on it.

He was the first to mention Wissa too.

Think he piggybacked that one off the Jorman press.

Won't get excited about any signings until they're officially announced. We've been burned too often recently from exciting links where we just got gazumped at the last minute.

I don't take any links on here seriously tbh. It's nice to speculate, but no way I am going to get my hopes up knowing that the cartel clubs are also watching us like hawks.

Fernandez-Pardo seems a real talent, be really excited if we signed him.

Looks good on the YouTube clips I’ve seen, though I’m a bit worried he likes space to run in to which is what teams often look to stop us from having.

Hope is ideal when covering a club in disarray

He is also the polar opposite when trying to deliver positive narratives

Wouldn't be a surprise to learn that his favourite characters in Harry Potter are the Dementors who live to suck joy and happiness from the world
