After all the bullying allegations this week this rings a little hollow. Thoughts are with those who’ve spoken out after being targeted

Got to say I’d be disappointed if we pay big money out on Pedro, Semenyo or Elanga, all decent players and would improve the squad undoubtedly but not sure any of them take us to the next level.

Elanga didn’t always start for Forrest and thrives on the transition, Semenyo seemed to tail off as the season closed and had some very poor showings down the stretch.

Think Delap offers value for money at 30 million but really hope where not going to have our eye balls taken out just to get PL established players with a limited ceiling.

Other than Mbeumo(who is just a perfect fit for our squad) I can agree that we should be looking for more hidden gems overseas/the lower leagues.

Over the long term we still have to make undervalued signings to compete against the high earners.

I'm happy if we sign anyone for big money as it means someone has signed off on a big transfer that we'll have absolutely done and redone our homework on.

Don't take every single tenuous link as gospel.

Didn’t Semenyo score a brace in the final league game of the season?

What I like about Semenyo is he can strike off both feet, he’s jinky so he’s good against a low block but also on transition and he can prove a bit of magic. Also seems to work hard.  What I don’t like is he’s a bit of a volume shooter and not creative.

JP - just doesn’t fit our system. But he would provide an option for 4231 and help us become a better possession side. But he’s not a 9 or a RWer.

Elanga I like but I think he has the lowest ceiling. A bit too dependent on the transition. But he’s got a super motor.

These are all lads that would be good pickups 24 months ago for half the price mooted now. Of the 3 I slightly prefer Semenyo because he’s an actual RW and is jinky.

I doubt we get any of them though.

Pickford stepping foot in a Newcastle Utd dressing room woud be like Damien Thorn entering holy ground. Cunt would catch fire.

Elanga is very good mindset wise watched something on the BBC about him and he's very much like Gordon mentality wise always improving and into personal development etc

That might be why were linked
