I’ve just watched 5/6 you tube compilations and he reminds me of Dan Burn in terms of being an out and out defender (stop at all costs)

Hope I am wrong but this is another Mbeumo/Pedro scenario where it's obvious from the start we will get trumped by a club that can pay higher wages than we can.

Not really our choice a lot of the time though. If deals get done quietly it's incredibly lucky because journalists/agents can't even keep their mouths shut for anything.

Very few deals are done on the quiet now. Wirtz to Liverpool, Gittens to Chelsea, Mbeumo to Man utd etc etc 

 

All played out in public. Its not just us.

Yep agree ,our three best players Bruno ,Isak and Tonali pretty much happened out of nowhere . No agent agenda or anything .

You'll have to remove all agents from football for that to happen. They always put it in the public domain to drum up a bidding war.

I don’t see why they would sell now when his stock will be at its lowest. An injury-free season and they could be the beneficiaries of a big club bidding war for his services.

sounds like not being able to get deals over the line is very much the fault of the head of first team recruitment, Andy Howe.

Our slowness in the market with or without a DOF is weird, we were signing players left right and center at the start or the takeover and of top quality like Bruno, Tonali, Botman, Isak and the rest and now we've spent two years chasing Anthony fucking Elanga and still can't get that over the line.
