If it is true kinda pathetic had plenty of time to get enough staff in. Paul Mitchell right useless cunt, identifies recruitment structure isn't up to standard (clumsily implying howe and staverley didnt do well when they clearly did) then fails to recruit enough people to do a transfer window, what the fuck did he do.

Spent a fair bit of time in the club canteen I'd bet

SP, with all due respect your source hasn't exactly been reliable either like, kits notwithstanding. If they were Guehi would be here, Howe and Mitchell would be getting on like a house on fire, and Trippier's marriage wouldn't be over.

Touche! 😁

With Guehi, all of that info was still 100% correct, and it came as close to directly from the horses mouth as you can get without literally being from Guehi. Palace moved the goalposts continually, as was reported in the last few days of the window, but Guehi was telling our players for weeks that it was imminent.

Howe and Mitchell… who knows 🤷‍♂️ That info again came from someone “in the building” and I have no reason to not believe them on that, nor any concrete evidence to the contrary, other than media speculation. But of course the source in question there quite possibly could have just been telling me what I wanted hear 🤷‍♂️

With Trippier, that’s fair now in hindsight, but the day I posted that info I had literally just seen them together and they were very much still together. At that point in time they definitely had not split up. Obviously since then, that’s all changed.

Thank you for acknowledging that all the kit stuff has been bang on though 😁😘

I also got Botman’s injury info spot on

, and Trippier not pushing for Bayern (despite Hope claiming he flew back from NY to push the deal through - the truth being he was flying back from a family holiday that day anyway and Hope was dramatising it for clicks).

I can only pass on what I hear (or see first hand).

The info re signings is coming from an agent by the way. So as I say, pinch of salt, but there’s definitely some accuracy in there. Whether it all ends up happening, who knows. I learnt that lesson last summer.

Not sure how Palace being in Europa or Conference would affect the Guehi price mind.

I’m not sure. I guess, potentially, the lower income that Palace will get might mean they need to sell more and be willing to accept a lower price, but I don’t know.

Guehi for anywhere around 40 million would be brilliant business. Still expect him to go to Liverpool.

For what it’s worth (not much), I also expect him to go to Liverpool, but as always, just passing on some info I’ve been told 🤷‍♂️

At this point I’m over Guehi and want Scavalini.

I'm feeling this way too, although to say I wouldn't welcome Guehi with open arms would be a lie.

I'd take either.

FWIW I've always appreciated the info you provide here.

And as ever until it's done, there are no guarantees with any of this!

I suppose what I'm getting at is that some of the journos might be passing on what they've been told too, rather than it only being that they're making stuff up.

Not denying that's not the case either mind, but some journos undeniably have sources, I suppose it just always comes down to how reliable they are

If we wanted Guehi, we would have moved by now. IMO we moved on, probably as soon as Liverpool came to the table.

Possibly brinksmanship - towards the end of the window palace basically know that it’s either what we put on the table or nothing in 12 months time. With Liverpool seemingly betting they will be pole position if he waits the 12 months so not offering a similar amount. Then it’s down to player whether he wants Liverpool in 12 months more than us now, but with some risk attached to Liverpool in 12 months - they change their mind, Konate signs a new deal, he suffers significant injury etc

Think one defender strong, good in the air, a bit of no-nonsense, alongside a one who can play a little bit, good positionally and has good recovery pace is the perfect partnership. If we can find a defender like Van Dijk who is literally all of that, then quality mind.

Aye, definitely someone like VVD would be perfect. Just without the hint of cunt.

I dont mean to sound sarcastic but when you say "someone like VVD would be good" it's very hard not laugh and say.. no shit.

Any idea where we can find the next best CB on the planet?

Don’t remember Guehi being poor in the air, granted he’s not that tall. I think he more than makes up for this in other areas of play (fast, good on the ball, reads play well, leader). I thought it was dead in the water and we’d go to the continent but great if we could pull it off. He was keen last summer wasn’t he?
