Not the price Brentford would actually want. That's what he is worth, considering his age and his output when you look at players selling currently like Elanga and Madueke. BUT he is worth double that to Brentford, because they cannot replace him and Mbeumo in the same window and everything they brought to the team without a pretty big outlay on someone else or a few players. Hanshithispantz
Ekitike & Isak would possibly be the best striking options in world football No chance it happens like, but I'd rather keep everything thing else as is (with Trafford in) and just go all out on a disgusting attack if the option is there. kingxlnc
If we got Ekitike PLUS DCL and DCL only plays the Chris Wood 3rd striker role, I'd be fine with that. Carabao cup games, last ten mins, target man type stuff. Osula I'd keep on the wings for now until he sorts out his finishing
Sibierski
Ekitike is a massive smokescreen. No way in hell we're signing him, but a £50m striker signing from elsewhere must be closing behind the scenes.

Isak Ekitike Gordon Elanga Barnes Murphy That's a front three with two players of almost (Isak is way ahead of Ekitike) equal quality/output in every position. But also allows for tactical changes in game and from game to game as well. You add Gallagher into the midfield six and take Longstaff out and similar can be said for the midfield. The defence is a little different as we ideally need a CB and a maybe a LB/RB to really be in the high quality first team and bench position.
Thumbheed
Pope Trippier Burn Schar Joelinton Osula Miley Barnes Murphy If we build a first team like that, then our windows thereafter become far less expensive as we're no longer in the building phase, but adding individual excellence to improve and freshen up your overall squad. Agreed. Plus we could always sell our woman’s team or the stack to ourselves if things don’t work out. Not to mention, we’re still awaiting APT investigation to see if we’re still hamstring on Saudi deals. I don’t think the above is as far fetched as what it seems. Although ask me last week pre-Elanga and I would have laughed. Edited July 12, 2025 by Maggies

That would be special, but Gordon needs to up his game, he’s been gash for a while. Probably need joelinton starting.
JUICE690
Giving Gordon the benefit of the doubt I'd argue that once teams got used to the way we played him, he became a target. That seemed to frustrate him, affecting his general play. Hoping the new player injection will free him up a little more to do his thing. Gordon is ace on his day. Would fear him in a line up against us. Edited July 12, 2025 by JUICE690
Hanshithispantz
Also tbf to Gordon, every man and his dog was telling me he was a lazy cunt who played the entire season in a perma-huff but it turned out he'd sprinted more and further than any other player in the league
WilliamPS
Gordon had just played too much football over the past 2 seasons by the end of the year, as he had an international tournament in summer 2024 and 2023. Nobody was whinging about him in the Arsenal semi finals

Probably more the reliance on that side for a lot of our counters, and teams nullifying that as Murphy rarely out-sprinting anyone, Elanga opens up that flank. cubaricho
Having someone on the opposite side of the pitch that puts genuine fear into a team/manager might help free up Gordon a bit. I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt for sure.

Still put up good numbers last season without hitting the same heights as the year before, expecting a "bounce back" this year

J7
He looks more like he’s been on an F1 training regime with the neck. Anyway, that’s a class team but I’d find it hard to leave Joelinton out given how much we miss him when not playing.
