I'd definitely take him. It would be quite something to be able to say we had arguably the greatest player of all time play for us.

 

It's the kind of thing that would get fans all across the world focusing on Newcastle. Which is something we need to do for sure. Raising our brand awareness across the globe is vital to be able to compete with the superclubs. 

 

EDIT: Obviously we are not going to sign Messi in a million years, no matter how much we may want it.

I saw on Twitter yesterday, Fichajes linking us with a 70m move for Camavinga.

 

These lot (Fichajes) are bullshit merchants, it seems to me.

He might be an upgrade on Joelinton but honestly, thought he looked gash against the dippers midweek. Think 70m would be best case scenario for Madrid.

Think we were rumored to have an interest in Oihan Sancet at some point. I thought their LB Adama Boiro was decent against us. Wouldn't mind him as a backup to Lewis Hall.

hate to be a pedant but this shouldn't be arguable to any reasonable person

the gap between him and whoever #2 might be (pele, maradonna, r9, dinho, cron et al) is greater than that from #2 to #3
