It would be aye, I just don't see us doing it. We will go back for Trafford imo.

Do you think we’ll go back in next month? If we did how do you see the goalkeeper situation for test of season? Personally I think we’ll leave it until the summer, unless another club comes in.

Unless we are concerned bigger fish move for him we are better waiting until the summer.

Kees Smit would be a very exciting signing.

Doesn’t look like he’s running fast but he just glides through midfields, knows where the goal is and looks up so he’s got great awareness of where teammates are. Doesn’t seem like a lightweight either.

Might sound like a very optimistic comparison but he reminds me of Zidane in the way he powers through with all the flair on show too.

If we could get him for less than 60m I’d say it would be great business. All the big boys being linked with interest though. We’d need to steal a march and not fuck around with negotiations.

Over to you Ross.

We'll need to be quick off the mark and sell it to him. Gonna be heaps of interest in the boy.

Definitely. Kid seems to have it all. Ben Arfa levels of excitement in this one for me.

I’ve had a look on google news and I’ve seen various figures thrown about. Basically ranging between 22m (us) to €50 (Madrid linked)

Maybe £50m big P’s would do it. If he tore it up here you’d be looking at Isak levels of resale value.

There's some very exciting names in that list.

Smit
Kobel
Samu
Scalvini

All four would secure the future - an extremely strong spine with huge potential. Probably 200m worth of signings there though.
Could let Botman go potentially if Scalvini came in. Or alternatively Burn and Schar are getting old too.

Saw Gallagher available for 26m - also another option

Finally would like to see some full back options and a high level replacement for Gordon mentioned soon. Not Elanga level - more like elite tier level.

It's not really a priority unless we're going to start playing two up top.

It is a priority as you need competition for places to avoid complacency. I'm also keeping my fingers crossed that Eddie does play them together at least somewhat regularly.

I'm one of the ones who thinks we need a 3rd striker, someone with better quality than Osula too. Just think it's vitally important if we want to seriously be in multiple competitions each year including CL.

I agree with you but feel a utility forward may be better the way i see it you go one of three ways.

A younger up and coming development player maybe around 21 who is a long term successor to the shorter term Wissa. - downside obvious issue isn't that what osula was meant to be and not getting regular games stifle their growth.

An older player who can do a job but isn't going to be mad getting minutes but not regular starts.- downside is wissa in footballing age already the older player with limited resale return do we want 2 of those types on the books.

Or my preferred option a utility forward/hybrid player who can play a number 10 should we ever to play with one and across the front 3 so we have options to bring the starting striker off or play 2 up front and have that rotation option there. - downside is likely to massive limit the pool of players who meet this criteria and the phrase "a jack of all trades a master of none" springs to mind.

You'll struggle to find many teams in the league who have three decent options up top. Number three is usually a youth player or a winger who can play up top.

Agree if it's always one or the other with Wissa and Woltemade. Could be different if we have any plans of them playing together - Wissa on the left or Nick playing off him, etc.

What does it mean by an eventual signing? We'll try in the summer, get gazumped by Chelsea and then sign him 3 years later at a knockdown price once he's deemed surplus to requirements?

We probably still see Trafford as an eventual signing.
