Pep just publicly apologised to him for not playing him as he doesn't fit what he wants to do mindnso more going on than that. I think we'd be better off going for a creative midfielder but wouldn't turn my nose up at him.

By the time I'd raised some money & went back in for him he now wanted so much in wages I still couldn't afford him. Cunt. Gallowgate Toon
Bolster the forward line and GK are the 2 priorities for me now. I think the main thing is that we make moves quickly though. We're at a pinch point of the season now where there's still loads to play for and we're not too far adrift in the league.
TheInfiniteOdyssey
I think Phillips coming in January would be a sensible one, especially if it’s an option to buy on loan. I’ve been really disappointed with his lack of development at City, however do believe Howe can improve him a lot. Suppose the biggest question is how long will it take for him to be at the level of sharpness Howe needs to function effectively in that role. I also wouldn’t be surprised if we ask about Lloyd Kelly in January, contract expires in summer. Plenty competition for him though I’d expect. I don’t want either tbh Phillips is a bit similar in style to Tonali - I want a 6 who can play is all 3 roles but can specialise as a 6 if needed (ie Bruno injury or rest) - Tonali can do this but I want someone more physical - to me that’s Yousuf Fofana as I mentioned before Don’t want a left footed CB - so no to Lloyd Kelly - a Leny Yoro type seems the most perfect fit
George Bailey
From what I have heard via family contacts, Phillips is getting interest from Juve.

Wanted that to be prioritised in the summer.

If we can afford both, great. Especially with Miley coming in and doing so well. I know it's a lot of expectation to put on a 17 year old, but whoever we bring in has to be demonstrably better. Just don’t see how either of these players propel us to the next level, we need players to improve starting 11 when everyone’s fit, or we’ll not make that jump. Yep - bar Bruno - we don’t have one - no point in getting Phillips as he can only play the 6 (can cover CB) too - Best buy someone who plays as a 6 and 8 is quality in both positions
Smal
Phillips has played very effectively as an 8 as well for England btw. He won England player of the year doing that role. There's no reason he couldn't come in and rotate with both positions imo.

Whenever I’ve seen him he hasn’t stood out; pacy wingers with poor decision-making, end product and a lack of footballing brain are ten a penny these days. Colos Short and Curlies
I reckon there will be a play for etikeke on loan unless there is a bargain deal for a Raphinha level player. he may not be at Isaks level but would be able to play a similar role up top.
