Other than the recent pen conversions he's done best part of fuck all in all comps for nearly a year

Mental that he's taking them tbh. He put them away well, but we've got a new striker who barely gets service 90 minutes game in game out and could likely use the confidence boost.

dare I say he played well against Spurs and Burnely recently (apart from the simple task of converting those pens)

I think some people just like focusing on negatives and having scapegoats

all well and good calling our players turbo shit and scouse cunts if that helps

Doesn't seem like we're going to agree so I'll leave it there, I've made my point clear I think.

Final thing I'll say is there are plenty of players underperforming other than just Gordon, so I'm not trying to use him as a scapegoat for everything that's wrong.

Good game from him, 7 crosses (16 between he and Murphy) and 4 key passes, as always he was involved in majority of our good going forward.

Felt Tino was getting in his way quite a lot aswell

Teams have started bracketing him and getting tight to him early. As they know he is so dangerous cutting in but will also go down the line.

If Hall was fit. I think he would have had more success tonight. Tino didn’t help him much.

Quite impressed by Barnes tonight, even looked a bit stronger than usual.

One moment where he played Tino in on the outside when I think he really should've taken the shot on himself on the inside. But he kept plugging away and getting crosses in.

Would like to see him sometimes pick up the ball a little bit closer to the middle of the pitch to really open up the shot more, but I know Howe likes the wingers to generally stay pretty wide.

Yeah, he almost never gets to cut in onto his right anymore. Had one opportunity today but it was blocked.

That threat helps us too, but really need Hall to make the most of it.

Missed two really good chances. The first time hit from Bruno-Elanga interchange on the left was difficult but the Wissa ball he really dithered for me. He was clean through. Just hit that first time.

Love his movement and how he is always looking for the shot or cross.

But he needs to get better at those back post finishes. Is that Barca, Spurs in the cup, City and today where he should have done a bit better. Hard chance, but his technique is great and he is often a clinical finisher.

The one where Wissa plays him through maybe he should have shot earlier. But the more I see it. The more I think foul and James appears like he’s been shot out of a cannon.

Give him a run of games and his limitations will intensify. He won't get the pelters the other fella is getting because he's not a cunt, and he tries hard. I wouldn't bat an eyelid if any of our wingers were jettisoned tbh

Couldn’t agree more he’s not the answer long term as a starter.

What yous smoking seriously he creates and scores goals and improves our creativity when he plays. Always looking to get players involved in our attacks to get the breakthrough in games.

What, when he starts ? He's ok, invisible for a lot of the time, and he's a bit lightweight. We know his strengths, but his weaknesses are evident too

He's always involved in games when he starts always looks a threat aswell. His weaknesses seem to appear when he starts getting left out of the team and his form dips.

Can't agree with the involvement statement, he's ghosted through a lot of his starts, albeit showing some encouraging flashes. Don't get me wrong I admire his strengths, but he has been labelled a one trick pony and best used as an impact sub by plenty on here. i do think he's shown a bit more of late but he's a limited player and I wouldn't be bothered if he was moved on
