The College Dropout
Top scorer in all comps from open play?
Shadow Puppets
He’s one of our most important players, clearly. Sometimes struggles to get involved against tougher opposition, but there’s no denying his finishing and his ability to get himself into goal scoring positions. He has been such a consistently important player. Love how he seems to take it all in his stride. Seems like a genuinely happy and easy going chap. Rare combination with that much ability/talent. TRon
He just lacks pace which is kind of paramount in a Howe system, I think that's why he gets sidelined sometimes. Howe is a big fan though tbf.
AyeDubbleYoo
He lacks the ability to get the better of good defenders, especially one on one. He's relatively un-explosive for someone who seems very fit and reasonably strong, but he held off the CB very well for his goal at the weekend. I wish I could see a starting role for him in a top PL team, but just not sure I do. Weird one for us, not sure we can play him but we can't afford to leave him out either. Maybe he needs to become a striker but it would obviously have to be in a team that didn't rely on their forward to bully or dominate CBs. His technique is great and he's probably one of the most reliable finishers in the league.
The College Dropout
He's an old school poacher striker. A striker in a 4-4-

Holloway
Our most potent sub. As a starter he seems almost peripheral most of the time
jemo96
If Gordon and Willock go he most probably becomes a starter on the LW. Saying that will someone else be brought in for that position, will it be deemed a priority.

Bench option only if we've got any ambition to be pushing into the top 5 next season. He's hopeless when he's not scoring. Cannot beat a man, doesn't have a trick, isn't particularly quick and isn't that strong either. He's literally just a finisher. A very good one but he's far more of a centre forward profile playing out wide than a winger in the traditional sense.
Gawalls
Prem alone, Leicester - 35 goals in 146 & for us 21 goals in 89 games so that's consistently around 1 in 4 since 2017. That's impressive.

It depends if we want a change of direction or a like for like replacement seems like we can go for a specialist LW or a more hybrid play across the front 3. I think Howe likes flexible players who can cover multiple positions but dont want to discount any scouting and unearthing a pure LW.

Chicken Dancer
Agree with that. If he's not scoring he's a passenger for the most part. Still it's always good to have a player with a knack of finding the net in your squad, but he definitely shouldn't be starting many games.
AyeDubbleYoo
I don’t think he’s particularly great as a sub against tougher opposition, only against ones where he’s likely to have a chance made for him. I do like him I just struggle to assess how he should be used.
r0cafella
So he's 28 with I'm assuming 2 years left. What we doing lads?

Thats the same with players like Trossard, if you are a shite midtable team like us then hes not really someone we need, but if we are a top 6 club we need players like him to finish teams off. Question is are we going to be a top 6 team or mid table next year.
geordie_b
I have this conversation with people all the time and I always end up saying something like "If he doesnt score or assist then he offers nothing" before remembering he does them quite a lot. Im never excited to see him on the team sheet and more often than not he's a rubbish sub. Never understood where he was meant to fit into the team/sqaud and still dont. KaKa
Shame he didn't start the match yesterday. Would have been far more interesting to see him start on the right instead of Murphy. Think his style of game would have fit nicely with Woltemade. He needs someone he can combine with to then get a return pass in behind when he makes his forward runs. A number 10 or second striker that stays high up the pitch just behind the striker would offer him more opportunities to combine with so he doesn't always have to try and beat a man one on one which he isn't good at. Conjo
He's not fast over the first 2 meters, but deceptively fast when he has more space to run into. 13 acc / 17 pace in FM terms.

Zero
I start to think he is actually not a good fit for 433. More suited to 4231 or 442 where he has more freedom to run into spaces.
