FA Cup winner, League Cup winner, let's give him the full set next season.

Was he not there when they won the league?

I would keep him left and play Gordon on the right.

We should him and play him on the left where he’s best. We’ll have a lot of matches between the PL, CL, FA Cup, and League Cup next season.

Yeah, they’re both left wingers. Bring in Europe next season will give him enough games that hopefully both of them can regularly perform at a good level.

The more I watch the match the better his performance gets. It's crazy how much went through him attack-wise and he did everything very well.

It’s almost as if Howe knows a player.

Hasn't been shouted about as much mainly because of the performance of others, but he worked his fucking socks off. Him and Tino down that left hand side just made them worry all game long. Strong, direct, smart. I've not watched it all back but I'm sure he found Tino on every overlap. If he wanted to get to the line as well he got there. Of course he stepped up.

Amazing that our threat all came down our “second string” left-hand side too.

One of my main criticisms of Gordon is how rarely he uses Hall on the overlap.

I know Tino is rightly getting plaudits for his performances at LB but I'm wondering how much that is down to having Barnes in front of him rather than Gordon. (Though clearly both are a clear upgrade on Murphy)

Barnes was absolutely class. His movement was fantastic and his tight dribbling is better than I realized.

He’s probably one of the smoothest runners with the ball I’ve seen. Sometimes doesn’t appear to be doing much but has a nice ability to drop the shoulder on people and glide past them.

I think he actually needs to be staying next season, now we are guaranteed European football. I don't think we'd get the same quality of player in for the money you'd get for Barnes now.

Add to that there's much more important areas that need to be improved, if we can go into next season with Gordon and Barnes as the Left hand side I'm happy with that.

We'll almost certainly need him if we're trying to battle on four fronts next year.

Before the final I suggested he would be worth starting just because of his end product which can win a match even when the performance isn't great, but it was suggested that his defensive work was slack. That surprised me, because I can't imagine Howe wanting a player who won't pitch in when we are out of possession. I don't watch him that closely, but I would imagine he must be at least fairly hard working if Howe wanted him so badly.

Barring any freak injuries next season, he'll be seeing plenty of gametime and will be an extremely useful asset for us. Good player, just been awkward timing with him so far.

I thought he was excellent on Sunday. Very brave & made good team decisions consistently. Flash might have to wait to get his place back.

He's been a bit up and down on that in his time here. E.g. early on this season he was throwing himself into everything, but in the last couple of months or so has looked half hearted at times. I don't know why but have been assuming it's due to how important and motivated he feels.

Optimistic that with Europe and the additional finances we'll have next season, the squad will look a lot less lopsided and he'll fit in better.

He had a good game, the only thing he got slightly wrong was the ball to Isak for the Kelleher save, even then it wasn't easy and Isak nearly buried it.

And not shooting when he pulled it back for schar
