Fair and I’m probably being a little harsh but if he’s up against someone strong/rapid and doesn’t have a give and go on his open play bar shots is always going to be pretty limited.

So unlucky on that FK mind. Would’ve been a class goal too.

Your being harsh plus he's much better cutting in on his left than anything he does on the right. Given we don't create many good chances he has to be starting from the left.

He's been outstanding for us. One game it doesn't click and he's being doubted again.

There where many more to blame before him, and he was very positive throughout. He doesn't hide, spots overlaps, and actually shoots.

I honestly don’t think it makes that much difference as he’s been getting more central off the right anyway. It’s minor point tbf and Harvard is one of the least of my worries currently.

That's a fair point, but it pains me to see the lack of width we show at times. Him coming centrally is probably a factor to why we have no cut backs from the byline from that side.

I echo you though, this is the least of our problems ATM.

If I was Barnes I'd go all-in on Scotland now, he'd have a place in the starting lineup for a few years whereas with England realistically this is not really the case.

Bit like all the England-born in the Ireland squad of '94, I don't think any of them have any regrets at all from what I've heard.

He should be going with England, not sure we've got anyone else like him. Hate it when we take 5/6 of the same type of player and 2 of them don't get any meaningful minutes whatsoever.

Also, this https://www.reddit.com/r/NUFC/comments/1qv1e2s/oc_harvey_barnes_202526_crossing/

Choose England and he likely sits on the bench for 90% of the tournament and gets a few minutes in some dead rubber group game.

Choose Scotland he likely get to start every game in a World Cup at a peak age play against Brazil. Will likely get a Euros and another World Cup before he retires.

Him and Doak either side will make Scotland a much more dangerous prospect. They basically fell apart in the Greece game once the outlet of Doak was gone.

Really?? Nobody is talking about how terrible his cross was for that Elanga sitter?

What's your point?

My bad. I re-watched it again, the cross by Barnes was not terrible actually. But I wish he could put the ball in front of Elanga's path and made it easy for him to tap it in. Still, Elanga's finish was poor indeed. Well, it wouldn't change the outcome anyway, and he did score a cracking goal tbf.

He'd be great for knockout football I could see Scotland getting through the groups if he decides to play for them. He has the goal threat that Scotland don't have in prior tournaments.

Come on guys, the ball from Barnes was fine, I think it's more people trying to find an excuse for a shocking miss from Elanga, than anything else. It was maybe a tad behind Elanga but he should have had his second there no questions asked.

Struggles to go by a defender.

Offered no threat down the left side.

Harsh man, when you got the lazy cunt Wissa in the middle you’ve got nothing to aim for
