Nothing from Ben Jacobs?

Thread inbound.

Now a few more are confirming it I'm mildly excited. Eddie Howe turned Jacob Murphy into a functional Premier League winger with a goal involvement every six games. Throw in someone more talented and who knows what comes out of the other side.

Wondering what this does to Isak if Wilson starts or if Wilson just fully becomes a bench player this season?

Squad game, innit!

We're gonna need rotation this year, once the champions league music is blaring out.

I know the cry has been we need more 'creativity' but if you look at our numbers last year finishing was actually probably more of a bigger problem. Barnes keeps it simple, fast and direct he doesn't slow down moves, hold the ball for too long or worry about getting it on to his stronger foot.

He'd come in and be our third best finisher behind Isak and Wilson I think. There's a good chance his overall game improves here too. Don't think he'll ever by anything too flashy but after watching us consistently waste chances and miss sitters having someone with a bit of composure and that strikes the ball so well is a massive help.

Yep, nailed it. We all remember how many frustrating games we had last season when we just kept wasting easy goalscoring opportunities. Eddie and the rest know what they are looking for. They know our biggest issue wasn’t creating chances, it was burying them. Barnes could fit right in and help us improve there. With Isak, Bruno, and Tonali, he can score more than at Leicester.

Leicester fans on their forum mainly unhappy with £35m and the vast majority speaking highly of him. One criticism is his defensive work but expect Eddie to sort that out.

There's no doubting the oddness of the signing given the sheer number of existing options in that position... but there's also no doubting Howe's aptitude and his clarity of vision. There'll be a plan here; looking forward to seeing what it is. Having loads of options is no bad thing when you're competing on four fronts.

I really don’t know how many left forwards we actually have, when you think about it. We have players who can operate there but I would say ASM is the only specialist.

Unless I’ve had one two many pints/wanks this evening.

Because they're a disgusting football club who have sold their soul and them being a success is a disgusting blemish on english and european football. It's depressing to see players I want to like and see do well wear their shirt.

Could he be our James Milner? Winger until 30+ before becoming a back and central midfielder?

Will be between Barnes and ASM for that holding midfielder role in 2028.

If he’s a straight replacement for St Max it’s to be hoped they have somebody with a bit of X factor lined up for the right side.

He doesn’t solve the problem of breaking down a stubborn defence at home, and we lose a lot of unpredictability if St Max leaves.

We’ll control games and keep possession with Tonali and Bruno, just not sure where the creative spark, killer pass is coming from to break down the top teams.

Bruno plays a killer pass and he's likely to get further forward with Tonali in the team
