England's Lewis Hall

So good at creating a yard for himself. Can be risky, but instead of rushing a pass or clearance or yet again passing back inside and/or backwards. He’ll just burst into a pocket of space and work room to then make a positive pass.

Noticed it twice tonight and does it a lot for us.

I mean…. He did only get game time towards the end due to having zero first team options.

I found people thinking we were playing contractual games funny. From the outset of the transfer it was widely reported his loan conditions were minimal. It was clear Howe just thought he wasn’t ready or didn’t rate him. His appearances early in the season was evidence he wasn’t ready.

Yeah that's definitely my first thoughts as well after just having made his England debut after having an excellent month or so.

Only had to avoid relegation apparently.

And it's been proven to be a really good signing.

Knew it would happen.  He’s a baller.

I said it last season - he was probably 4-6 weeks too late getting into the team from making the England squad for the Euros.

Looked really tidy last night. It may not have come off but I loved when he absolutely rinsed his opponent for some space before bending the ball up the wing for Rogers. Shame it had just a bit too much on it.

For all potential proven expensive “star” signings nothing beats signing ridiculously talented young players that grow into stars with the club imo. Much more satisfying than for example buying the likes of Mbeumo for 60m or so. Or at least players that aren’t too well known within the league.

Obviously Ireland offered little going forward but I thought it was a very accomplished performance from Hall. He didn't look like someone making his debut. Keep playing as he is and that's his position for the next decade.

Possibly because he wasn't?

It was his first full start and first game at wembley a few days after he made his debut away as a substitute if we want to get overly specific about it.

If we hadn’t bought him we wouldn’t have had to sell Minteh. Really makes you think.

Hall was signed in 1st of july this year, so I believe he didn't really impact it that much.
