Said in the thread, him and Miley were our most composed and showed up the senior players in how to deal with the ball to take sting out of the games. I dont mind if they lose it occasionally, because their attentions are always positive. My worry with Hall was how we kept him on for the full 90 despite his ankle clearly injured. Very shorterism considering his recent injuries, so hopefully we get a LB in urgent so we don’t make this a norm. Needs looking after at a young age. Easy to say but if we don't beat Burnley a lot people go into crisis mode. The stakes were incredibly high.

Just hope we get a LB in ASAP, because he really needs rotation. So far, Bournemouth will likely be only game he’ll be rested for over January. Pilko
We won't get anyone in IMO. Trippier, Burn Krafth and Tino will come back from injury at some stage soon (varying) & with Miley also a RB option all of those bar Krafth will be considered the cover. Howe doesn't fancy Alex Murphy clearly but would imagine he'd rather gamble on him getting a handful of emergency minutes in the short term to rushing in and making a buy. We'll go in for a LB in the summer IMO.

Howe has basically said as much; it's just that precisely who/what we target will be dependent on the state of the squad (i.e. injuries). With that in mind I wouldn't expect any recruitment to be instant. That Ake link seems extremely plausible for starters.

That was kind of my thinking - we never seem to get deals done super early in January, and assuming we are still negotiating or whatever 2-3 weeks into the window I reckon 2 or 3 of those lads will be available again and we'll hold off to get better value/a better target come the summer. Or we can recall Targett as cover, of course. The Ake link definitely makes sense but it doesn't seem very "us" at the minute - short-term loan for an older player on decent wages - as it won't be super value. Thoroughly deserved if current performances continue through the season, and provides us with some protection, to the extent that contracts provide protection these days. See the rat.
