Agreed. The predictable toys out of the pram by the usual suspects.

This group was always a big ask with our lack of CL experience, with our injuries it was a nigh on impossible task.

The players, manager and club will learn from it, here's hoping some of the 'supporters' do.

Completely - I’ve been working so didn’t see the game, logged on here to get synopsis. I’ve read falling to bits, not enough managerial nouns and pub team.

Should have equalised through Joelinton but didn't. Turning point that.

That and the fact we have 8 first team players unavailable.

Never mind, learning curve for us.

Yeah, just a tough set of circumstances.

Respectable showing but just too much to overcome.

Great night for Livramento who continues to take huge leaps forward.

They were better than us over 180mins, can't really argue about that. Unlucky with some chances, maybe, but ultimately they beat us and deserved to do so.

Move on. It's over, let's see what starting 11 we can muster up against Bournemouth.

1 and 2 Champs knockout stages

3 Europa League

4 Gans home

If we don't qualify for CL - I want us to gan home.  Our squad is just battered - we need what we have left to focus on the league.

Tino was an absolutely class signing btw. Doesn’t look out of place at this level.

we’ve played most of these two games without a mobile striker and our best defender out.

my only issue tonight was the ref not giving cards, and trippier playing like he’s never played the game before.

Joelinton’s miss was awful but you can’t afford to miss chances at this level

Such a frustrating 180 mins of football. Feel like every single bounce has gone against us across the two games.

Think if we have even one of Isak/Botman available we get 1-3 points from these two fixtures and keeps us right in a great position.

We literally gave them a lifeline all the way to more or less qualifying them at our expense

The fact we didn't score a goal against these home and away is criminal. Yes they were okay but these weren't sensational by any means.

Disappointing result, but not disheartening. Think they edged the two games overall, but their where several moments that could have swung it our way, though it does kind of feel like they had our number a little. I thought we acquitted ourselves well mind, especially given the amount of injuries we have, and there is plenty to take away from the game.

Exact same thing in the home fixture though and we didn't learn that lesson.

These two games against Dortmund have been near enough identical other than the fact they've scored 2 in this one.

Learn what lesson?

We hit the woodwork 3 times in the first game... and but for a shocking miss from Big Joe today it would be a different game completely.

They're a quality team, but we haven't done bad, just fine margins.

Fine margins in these games, Joes header goes in and it’s different. We were up against it with our current injury/suspension list and we gave it a good shot. It’s unfortunate, but this young squad will learn lessons that last a lifetime from these types of games. Proud of the side tonight.

Never mind lads. It’s tough to win away in this competition, as the weeks go on it seems the odds keep stacking against us. Dissect the performance tonight then all thoughts on Bournemouth come the morning.

So still a chance if we beat PSG and Milan.

We need Dortmund to lose both games and we have to get something away to PSG. Very difficult. Hoping Milan lose a game and us beating them at SJP for the EL is probably more realistic. Never say never though.

Just about any CL team missing 8 first team starters is going to struggle in a CL game - even Man City wouldn't have an easy time of it. In the shape we're in at the moment, I'd just be happy if we can tread water and stay in the top half of the Premier League.
