Lloyd Kelly set to join Juventus on loan with a £20M obligation (Ornstein)

We've still got nine senior defenders at the club, though admittedly it's a bit of a stretch to include Lascelles. Kelly's played 596 minutes out of 2,700 this season.

Jacob Murphy is Ronaldo now tbf.

Murphy is always happy and joking. No way is he spending his spare time being a miserable bastard on here.

Trippier, Tino, Schar, Burn, Lewis, Lascelles, Botman, Hall, Targett, Krafth

Bold are those I’d concentrate on selling next and replacing with younger talent.

Italics are those that will probably need a replacement bedding in soon enough.

Tino? Come on.

We've got 3 defenders that will continue to be starters - Botman, Hall, Tino

Some who could stay as backup for another year but are either old or average - Schar, Burn, Lascelles, Krafth

The rest with probably no future here at all - Trippier, Targett, Lewis

It'll be 'alright' if we sign a really high quality RCB but I think we need a LB backup as well. Unless we're planning to extend Targett and keep him.

Will be an honour to see him play for a massive club like Juventus. When he made that overlap down the left today I thought "there's no way we're keeping a hold of this lad".

Makes it even more mystifying that he came on today.

Put him in the shop window innit. Juve saw him marauding down the wing like a young Bobby Carlos and couldn't hold back any longer.

He never really got a chance and when he did unfortunately for him it didn’t really come together, he put in a couple of bad performances. Hes also been kept out by a consistent Burn and the emergence of Hall, I think he’d have got a run in the team at LB if not for Hall coming on so quickly.

Great deal for us and he’s a decent player, hopefully he gets back into playing regularly for them.

£15 million with add ons and a sell on clause is really good.

With Botman and Krafth returning without any setbacks we have a lot of defenders available. Lascelles will eventually join too.

It's a great opportunity for Kelly and with all of their injuries he will actually play more over there.

For all the shit the guy got, he will soon be playing for Juventus in the Champions League, and has made us a £15 million plus profit in 6 months.

Good for him.

Lewis and Lascelles are out of contract.

Controversial opinion but I thought Tino was pretty poor today. Kid’s confidence looked shot by the end, trudged off with his head down.

Been poor since Bournemouth

It’s not controversial IMO. I think he has looked really unsure and panicked on the ball for a while now. Still a very reliable defender and fast as fuck. But offers nothing going forward or when in possession.

Unlike the Bournemouth game. We massively improved when Trippier came on for him.

Still young. Steep learning curve for him.
