Will Osula

Recommended Posts

He still makes some mad runs or decisions on what space to take up. It’s like his teammates never know where to pass it.

Brilliant for the goal, mind. I thought he should have just got a touch and played Barnes in earlier. But he showed great strength and then played a pass the other side of the defender making it easier for Barnes and harder to defend.

He is contributing while Wissa is out, at least.

He’s an absolute unit, don’t know if he’s just naturally filling out or whether they are actively trying to bulk him up but he’s going to be a real asset if he learns to use it like today. He doesn’t have much of a football brain so there’s probably a limit to what he can achieve unless that improves but he’s a great third choice

He's done well tonight. You literally cannot fault the lads application and he needs to be given time/a run to see what he is capable of, but for me, despite tonight he has to continue to show signs of development. Bit of a rough diamond perhaps and it's upto him to listen and learn to progress.

Will always back him though because of said application.

For a third choice striker, he’s a pretty good option and is improving all the time. The Liverpool goal, the first half goal against Bradford and the assist tonight are all good quality. Hopefully keeps it up.

If nothing else performances like tonight will help his value you hope he realises his potential here but if not the "dream" of at least getting our money back seems more than possible and 25/30m far less eye brow rausing.

After last seasons none event in terms of minutes the time spent by the player and coaches within that time you can clearly see improvement. I think osula last season goes for goal and runs into traffic rather than assisting Barnes.

The annoying thing is I think we’ll sell him in the summer (largely for FFP reasons) and he’ll become an absolute beast after doing 2 or 3 seasons in the Bundesliga playing 30+ games.

You can see him improving all the time here, but I just don’t think he’ll get the game time with Woltemade and Wissa here (and the expectation level we now have) he needs to develop.

Frankfurt are no mugs, they have a fantastic record for buying young strikers and developing them. We thought we had hit the jackpot with £28m but now we are getting a glimpse of what they saw.

Glad he's getting regular game time. He's obviously got some rough edges, but he's got a lot of really good things to his game too, he needs some game time and experience to develop the mental side.

I think selling him is quite likely unless he proves himself essential.

On a positive note, it seems those in charge feel the same vis-à-vis his potential. We had a buyback clause in the transfer originally, then shifted to a loan with purchase option before being cancelled.

Hopeful if he continues to prove his worth this season and we do consider selling we go for a buyback again.

Always had something about him, especially for the money. The way he plays and his personality tend to make people think he's more comedy than he really is.

That said, really happy he's getting a chance to get more minutes and he's contributing.

Imagine him coming on and running in behind etc, after you've been chasing Waltemade deep for 70 minutes, is a nightmare.

Not for nothing that we wanted a buyback option.
