Will Osula

Recommended Posts

Don’t underestimate how much last nights goal will have done for his confidence. He’s got three games now, due Gordon’s sending off, could be another Kieron Clark/ Joelinton situation.

He bangs in a couple of goals in the next few games, we might have unearthed another gem…

I'd be really interested to see his goal involvements across league and cup in the handful of minutes he's played. Always seems to make something happen and yet gets largely ignored. I get that he's raw but in a league full of systems, structure and safety, I don't think raw is a bad thing

If we play another winger up front I stead of a legitimate CF I will lose my shit

FWIW, Eddie said Gordon's suspension gives Osula a big opportunity now, or words to that effect.

I'm not so sure it does, mind.  As we need a striker in by the weekend (good one ) and if not, then it is unimaginable not getting one by 7pm Monday.  So he isn't going to get much of a chance to shine as the CF.

Whilst I do think he’s an erratic, somewhat chaotic player, it’s not exactly helped by the fact he only ever really gets 5-10 minutes at the end of games we’re chasing.

For that reason I think he deserves to start a few games consecutively for us where we may see a more refined, disciplined performance.

I can understand why Howe doesn’t like him up front. There was a couple of times last night he got the ball, done too much and lost it / chased someone down and gave a needless foul.

He’s an attacker on egde, where last night was ideal but if you are starting a game and want control, he’s not the one you want.

Honestly, I really hope and look forward to him getting a start vs Leeds. He may not be good enough, but you know he's going to leave everything out there trying to take his chance. I really hope it goes well for him.

Here lies the problem.

I'm hoping he starts on Saturday, bolstered by his goal against the current champions and with a point to prove, there will be no lack of effort from him leading the line. I hope he takes this opportunity with both hands.
