Actually think people are being harsh on him. He’s shown some nice link up play and strength with his back against defenders. I just don’t think he has any chance of developing without a loan

Think he looks like a bull in a china shop. He's going to commit 2-3 fouls a game away for no reason.

Trying too hard, and more experienced PL CB's will eat him up. But he was also completely isolated up top. Many strikers would struggle with the level of "service" he was offered today. Thought his first (only?) shot showed a bit of class. The touches were great to get it under control.

Nah. Nope. Nowhere near it. I've tried to be patient with him but that performance today was pish. He wouldn't look out of place in the Championship. No amount of funny dances or tiktok videos can compensate

He doesn't really know how to play as a striker, like. Zero awareness or anticipation. He's never going to develop without regular game time either. You can see why Eddie preferred Gordon or the ghost of Callum Wilson ahead of him.

Don't want to be too critical as it's not his fault he found himself starting up front today, but he's clearly not ready for this level, and I'm not sure he ever will be as a striker. Seems to have no instinct for the position whatsoever and has probably just been put up there as a kid because of his physical elements, which unfortunately also fall short at this level at the moment.

Certainly an unimpressive and quite naive performance from the point of view of being an attacking outlet. He came short well on a couple of occasions but otherwise very ineffective.

Anyone's guess how he turns out but games like this, and the forensic reviewing with the staff, will do him the world of good.

Pity we can't get him a loan; clearly we need him.

He needs to be put out on loan. He has no awareness whatsoever for creating space, making runs and taking up positions in the box. He also get pushed off the ball far too easily. Get him out on loan and see if a run of games can build his glaring weaknesses. If not then offload in the summer.

Don’t think his physical elements fall short personally. Think it’s entirely mental with him, both in terms of not having the instincts for the position (don’t think he has instincts for any position actually) but also in terms of being really thick and fouling people all the time in situations where he really doesn’t need to.

What I think he does have is excellent strength in physical duels when receiving the ball into feet, I think he can dribble and carry the ball well but in a chaotic fashion with his head down and I don’t think he always knows where he’s going. This leads to him not releasing it when he should.

I think his striking of a ball is decent to good.

The problems are, can you teach him at this stage in his development to have instincts on movement? I really don’t know. Can you teach him to carry the ball with his head up, probably not. Can you teach him to stop fouling people, probably yes, or at least you can improve it a lot.

If he could improve his movement a lot then I think he can play at this level but it’s just a massive question mark. I don’t think he’ll ever be class at carrying the ball even though he has the physical attributes for it, but when he does get his head up his passing is also absolutely fine

Very unfortunate that he gets a chance to start and it's in a setup with no wingers, and Murphy upfront with him. Just didn't work at all.

Once the striker situation is sorted out might as well loan him out to get first team experience.
