Can't say I'm too sad about it but if that's another of our top targets gone, what are we actually doing?

Who knows if he was a top target this summer, but let's be honest, as soon as Liverpool are in for him it's curtains.

Other teams moving quickly to get their targets whilst we're moving like a turtle.

Whilst true it's also much more difficult for us to secure our first choice targets.

The simple fact is, we aren't any players first choice so we are somewhat reliant on our sky 6 rivals not being interested.

Well we stopped going after the Brunos, Isaks, Botmans and Tonalis in the past few windows so I'd say we are to blame for that as well. If all we want are established PL players the Sky 6 will continue to wipe their arse with our shortlist.

It feels that way but we don't know if that is actually true at this point. We can revisit this assessment at the end of the window.

After all, it's still only June. If a month or radio silence passes I will be right next to you but for now I don't see any reasons to panic.

This has been said the past few windows and they turned out terrible. You need to be moving fast these days to not get left behind.

Your right it has. I think this window is fundamentally different in that we do have PSR headroom so we will be investing.

As per my original post. It will always be difficult for us to get our first choice targets as the competition for those can and do pay bigger fees and wages.

This will continue to be the challenge until we can achieve revenue parity (Which I actually don't see happening any time soon but that's another topic  )

'It's only June' soon becomes 'it's only Early July', then 'we still have two weeks left. Be patient'. And then its us all watching on deadline day with an hr to go.

Obviously that won't be this window though. Will it? WILL IT?!

“Howe would prefer for Newcastle to have new arrivals in the building by the time the team return for pre-season training in early July, with a goalkeeper, centre-back and right-winger on his wish-list.

The failure to do any significant business last summer was well publicised, amid tension between Howe and new sporting director Paul Mitchell. And the head coach says the challenge now is to make deals happen.

‘It's great that the window opens on June 1,’ he said. ‘The challenge is for us to sign players in early June. But it doesn't always work like that. I hope in reality it does, but it rarely works like that.

‘It gets harder and harder to sign good players. So I'd rather sign the right player than settle for someone and get them in early, but let's wait and see. It is very difficult to predict.’”

from 2nd May.

The problem with howes a small pool of players quote is they will need big wages to get them which we don't pay. And if we can manage the wages we scoff at the prices. 😂 Factor in howe doesn't like loan deals and the use of the free market very often and our options go from a small pool to a little puddle.

Not to mention the Sky 6 already have underhanded relationships with the agents of these players due to giving them big pay days for decades.

Wonder if Parish will be as awkward as he was last summer or with it being Liverpool will he be bending over and taking it from the cartel

He’ll allow them to bend him over and do him tenderly, some Luther Vandross playing in the background on a bed of rose petals. Loves being a cartel cuck does Parish.

I really don't mind not getting Guehi - especially at that price - it's about whether there's confidence in there being a plan b/c/d.

I mean, we missed out on him 12 months ago. I’d fucking hope there’s plenty of different plans going into this summer and we are not now needing to pivot away :D

Jarell Quansah for 40 million?

The valuation will be boosted with free money for PSR because they are doing swapsies with Leverkusen.

We should do it with someone. Since its the Guehi thread, Guehi for Willock if that rumour (possibly singular) about Palace interest has any substance.

If Liverpool do get Guehi, its a step down from VVD. Expect even more joy against them from corners.
