AyeDubbleYoo
Can’t imagine it’s fun to stay somewhere you want to leave for an extra two seasons mind. When there’s a move to a top club available right now.
Dr.Spaceman
I'd be amazed if when he's available on a free there's just us and Liverpool after him. Edited 12 hours ago by Dr.Spaceman

KennyUtd
He's definitely not coming here. If he was interested he'd have signed by now imo. He's known of our interest for ages and just doesn't seem at all keen. Time to move on and I think the club probably have already.

What a fucking weird way to put it, he won’t be moving because his owner won’t sell him for anything less than a ransom and because of that he can’t get a top contract Thanks for saving me writing this out. Whatever BS posturing there may be beforehand, I would expect Palace to accept a decent bid made at the end of the window by a club in the CL Guehi would be happy to join. KaKa
Yeah, at this point he can just refuse any move unless the salary is comparable to what he anticipates getting next summer as a free agent. Edited 8 hours ago by KaKa

jackyboy
He's doing what Trent did, running his contract down to get himself a big payday. Perfectly legal but can't say that I like it

Their cup win probably justified that decision.

Perfectly legal but can't say that I like it Why not? Are you generally in favour of corporations making money over individual employees? Personally I'd rather see a massive redistribution of wealth across the world, from corporations to the employees themselves. This is what Trent did, and what I'd do as a player too. I'm surprised all players don't do it. Why as a player should someone else get £100m for me, am I an object? How can a human being be bought? On the flip side, if Newcastle bought players who left for nothing I'd be a little disappointed because that negatively impacts my team's ability to then reinvest in transfers, but that's me as a football fan supporting an individual team and I can compartmentalise that against the human angle where I'm in favour of anyone, hell everyone, walking away at the end of their contract to maximise their pay. It's not like footballers are absolutely guaranteed to be set for life, see the Lee Clarke thread. And that's a man who has had 15+ years of employment AFTER retiring from football. With their main competition being Chelsea as he’s £20+m cheaper for them to buy which makes him quite inexpensive despite being into his last year. Id be surprised if we get him. Unless it’s a great fee and other interest isn’t there but at our range you’d expect Spurs to be interested with Romero wanting to leave.

Perfectly legal but can't say that I like it That's totally unfair! Parish called Guehi a superstar player, so he should offer him a top contract and wage! If not, Guehi should just let that contract run down. On Trent, they waited till his last year to offer an extension! They offered him 300k a week in January. Think he'd have turned that down with two years to go on his contract? Now they're letting Konate's contract run down too. If they don't offer him something near VVD's deal, he'll realize he can boost his value by joining Real Madrid. You'll hear them whining next summer again.
