perhaps usually, but rightly or wrongly Howe hasn’t ever changed a team if things are going well, so over the course of a season the level of the first XI is significantly more important for him than other managers I’d say.

Or he just doesn't have genuine alternatives? He's put out some wacky line ups at times, it's only recently he's started really sticking with close to the same XI I think.

£45m rejected without counter is time to move on. They're within their right to want silly money for him, but at the same time we need to be sensible too.

They've briefed they're after £60 million for him.

Not like he has ever had many options to change the team though due to injuries and general lack of quality squad. IMO adding good reliable depth to the squad is probably even more important than adding starters due to the drop off in quality to the next player in most positions. We are probably playing at least 8-10 extra games compared to last season and right now we have two good options only at LCB, LW and RB (and Trippier is ancient).

                 Isak

Gordon     Pedro       Elanga

          Tonali     Bruno

Hall    Botman   Guehi   Tino

                  Trafford

I'd argue that team above is a significant jump in quality for our starting 11.

And before people make the point, im aware of how crucial Joelinton is to the way we play, but how nice would it be to have options; Burn, Schar, Trippier, Joelinton, Murphy, Barnes, Miley, Pope.

In theory, of course. Still all the work to do and id not be shocked of we didn't sign any of those players.

If we get those players and keep everyone, we'd probably see that line up in March

But they'd be ready.

Eddie is seemingly in charge of how he spends the money this summer. If he wants him, he can go get him.

And on who goes,Longstaff,Willock and the Greek Bloke might bring in £40odd mill or much more if a Saudi side comes in

Dubravka & Pope aswell cant see all these goalies staying if the Trafford transfer goes through

Hope £55 does it

You're leaving out the player of the season?

My favourite system and would perhaps negate the need for a midfielder, still not convinced Howe will abandon 3 in midfield on a regular basis though.

Think this system is how we get even more out of Isak and play to his strengths.

It's true that on form Burn is a much better bet than Botman. It's also a long time since Botman was fit and actually looked any good. He's no quicker than Burn either.

Whenever it comes to a signing, the opinions that matter most are that of the locals.

I've just checked the Forest forum and by golly gosh, they rate him highly and would be gutted to see him leave. So on that basis, fucking pay them the money and bring the big man home.

Plus, it'll be nice for Isak to have a wee Norwegian friend he can speak Danish with.

He wasn’t a shadow of the player he was for us prior to the game vs Arsenal.

I agree he was fantastic for us. My point was that he continued to be excellent after leaving, winning the PFA Player's Player of the year for Spurs.

What Dalglish did to such a decent team in a short space of time was mind boggling

If we’ve bid £45m and they value him at £60m I reckon we’ll up the offer to £50m straight cash and £5m in achievable bonuses and get it done.

What happened to moukoko

Played 10 games for Nice on loan ending the season almost completely out of the picture.

Haaland and Bellingham who would likely of prospered anywhere have given people the false impression of Dortmund as an elite finishing school.

They’ve dropped the ball on most prospects they’ve had since Sancho.
