If a club in our kind of aspirational mode loses a player to one of the big six, then at least its possible to shrug one's shoulders and not take it personally. If you lose a player to a club that you think of as being on a similar level to yours, then it's more of a slap in the face. These big businessmen don't like losing. Plus, they didn’t even say it had been rejected. They said the expectation would be that it would get done very soon, but there were some finer details to iron out. The last seemingly accurate information was that Forest were happy dealing at 55m but there's a few add ons and clauses to iron out to get it rubber stamped. My feeling is that Howe wants him around the squad next week, so the deal will be done in the next couple of days. I just dont see a scenario where this doesn't happen. Elanga is sold on the move, Forest have all but given up keeping him and we are willing buyers. Even in the improbable world where another club gazumps us, I think Elanga is pretty much set on us and I wouldn't want to pay more than we already are.
