The most interesting part of the RW signing being Elanga would be that it’s basically a long term commitment to the idea of not having an inverted winger on both sides. Elanga as first choice and Murphy as backup for the foreseeable future, with Gordon/Barnes being used there occasionally too.

Would explain us being so all in on Elanga, as the vast majority of RW options out there are left footed and would require a pivot away from something that was so incredibly effective last season with Murphy in the spot.

It’s not what I was expecting to be honest but at this point Eddie has earned total buy in if this is who he wants. Given how productive Murphy was in the position last year, I’d expect some pretty good numbers from Elanga next year if he is the one we end up with.

I personally do not come into ANY transfer based thread to read intelligent contributions like this. Please tone it down

Don't think we are even close with Elanga we upped our bid to 50 mil but forest want 60 so a long way off.

And it seems Elanga is happy at forest so he is not going to demand a transfer anytime soon.

We need to move on with plan D or wherever we are at the moment.

We upped our bid to £55m and it hasn’t been rejected. They’re just working on finer details of the payment structure.

And Elanga most definitely does want the move 👍🏻

All Paper talk that he wants a move no one knows what his wishes are and forest dont have to sell.

There’s not a chance we’ve chased him for 12 months without knowing he wants the move like.

We’re getting a double transfer agreement confirmation tomorrow, I can feel it in my bones.

Trafford and Elanga up north for start of pre-season (that’s right lads, forego your holidays from being on international duty).

Totally. He’s friendly with two of our team, of course we’ll know whether he is into the idea or not.

He’s pretty good with his left mind. He’s not Perisic/Martins level of two footed but moreso than pretty much anyone else in our squad. Which I think is a major reason for us wanting him. If he was Isak level of right footed I don’t think we would be interested.

From what I’ve seen Elanga, he’s more of a modern wide forward  than a Murphy old school RW type.  Elanga over performed his expected assists considerably so it will be interesting to see if he remains a primary assist threat. His underlying numbers didn’t suggest that as much it would look based on G/A.

I see this similar to the Gordon transfer as I think it’s the profile Howe loves most.

Shak's post made me realise our front 6 will all be right footed. As will all of our midfield. Would be nice to throw a leftie in to mix things up at times
