Without knowing exactly what’s gone on in the background for the last 7 weeks, it’s a bit harsh to claim they’ve been “wasted”. If Elanga signs tomorrow, then that’s obviously something that’s been worked on in the previous seven weeks. It only deceases by the day if you think the limiting factor is time. It's probably not as simple as that, you can work on multiple deals at the same time. Who's to say if we'd signed 2 players in week one then we wouldn't have wasted weeks 15 and 16, or whatever. Very odd/convenient logic because we’d have actually signed 2 players in that scenario and we’d have a better squad, therefore taking the pressure off somewhat. It reduces the available options if other clubs start signing them - this is seriously poor stuff at this point.
