I’d say that his last two performances have been a step in the right direction in terms of he looks a bit more confident, and really trying to effect the game.

We obviously still need much, much more from him, and the quality still isn’t there, but small steps and all that.

For me he was one of the plus points of today. Looked much more involved and starting to build some confidence.

I know everyone is trying to find the positives with this bloke but I just do not see a footballer in the lad.

We’re literally praising him today for a decent cross. £55m.

Nobody mentioning him running it out of play (a-fucking-gain) nor the fact he’s brought the sum total of fuck all to the table as yet.

If there’s some grand plan I’m missing and I’ll look stupid in a couple of months then, great, happily but he looks nowhere near a £55m footballer.

He's probably as far from suited to our style of play as you can get. It was such a weird purchase.

Totally agree. A bizarre purchase all round with the most concerning aspect being that we seemingly tracked the cunt for two years and made him a top priority.

Thought it looked like another small but positive step forward today. Was absolutely infuriating when Digne clothes-lined him after he turned him, looked a very promising breakaway.

Would be keen to see him start against PSG.

I agree with you there. His performance was at a low level, but it was still his best game so far.

I must be missing something.

It appears the bar is so low for this bloke that everyone is clinging to the smallest of moments in the hope that they will him into some type of form.

I just see nothing in him to give the slightest bit of justification for the fee.

We might as well have bought Usain Bolt. At least he’d bring in more shirt sales/pr.

tbh, would rather Osula had come on.

Until Osula actually came on, and then we’d all remember…

*I mean actually, in hindsight, having a bit of chaos in the last 10 mins might have been beneficial, but ultimately, Osula’s faults are generally the same as Elanga’s, but worse.

Elanga had one of his better games today for us. That's not to say he was great. It's two different things.

People are willing him to do well cause his confidence is clearly shot and he is trying his best. Cannot blame him for his fee.

A lot of folks around me at the game were saying the same.

Osula definitely getting the when injured becomes a much better player phenomenon mind. Elanga has been better of late - low bar I know but definitely the right decision to bring him on.  Osula hasn’t played for 3 months

It sure he can press as consistently as we need. Murphy and Almiron could do that. Transformative for us if we can get on the toes of who ever has the ball half a second after they get it.

Osula’s a better dribbler and has a shot on him.

Aye his pressing is surprisingly bad.  But that will get better over time.

You put Elanga in West Ham's side and he'll succeed. [emoji38]

He's at least showing a lil promise since returning from injury. I think he really needs a goal or assist so he can settle down a bit.

Crying about the fee achieves nothing. It’s clear we overpaid but if we want him to ever find any form then backing him like the crowd did against PSV doesn’t hurt.

He’s not as bad a player as he has been so far for us and think there have been positive signs on his last two cameos. Would really like to see him get a start soon. You have to build on something.

I fear he might be a bit too much of a fast twitch kind of athlete.

We really players with the work rate of Almiron out wide and an in form Longstaff in the middle.
